Thank you for your feedback and kind words.

Regarding the ‘Scanned PDF’ files… We have a product called ‘PDF2XL OCR’ which does handle scanned PDF files. You can find it here:

I am a reseller and have an e-commerce web site “www.usainteriors.com”. I have some wholesalers send me price lists in a PDF file instead of Excel format of which I can’t work off of. But this program has ended the drudgery of copying each PDF box to an excel file. This is the best program I have ever found to make the changes without effort.
Best thing since milk and honey.

The software helped me a lot. You can start with converting right away without going through a manual first. Good and usefull package.

Fantastic product. Easy and intuitive to work with. Our accounting software only produces PDF output files and it was very time consuming to rekey into Excel to analyze. With just a few clicks I can pull massive amounts of data into Excel via Cogniview very quickly. I use it every day. Your customer service is very good as well. Thanks to Danit for helping me get up and running.

I was recently tasked with extracting several hundred tables from pdf
product catalogs. “No problem, I’ll just get Adobe Acrobat” I thought.
NOT! I downloaded the latest version of Acrobat Pro and it won’t even
extract a table with merged cells. Your software made the task a piece of
cake! Adobe should pay you millions and incorporate this into their
software. Shame on Adobe and cudos to Cogniview. Judging from the
performance this also seems to be one of the most well written pieces of
    software I’ve used in years.
    Great product guys!

    Brilliant bit of tech.

Quick and easy to use, only downside is trying to erase a table grid i just made quickly, also OCR struggles with some units (may not be the software though). Simple to use and yet has the possibility for more complex operations if needs be.

    Cheers guy, great software.

I need to get the past 10 years of bank statements into Quicken to track contributions to a Family Trust and establsh a gifting programme. A dawnting task! I’m not typing them!! I wanted an OCR programme that recognised columns of data. I googled “scan columns into xls” and up came “Cogniview PDF2XL”. I downloaded the trail and ran it. It worked perfectly. Beyond my wildest dreams. Absolutely fit for purpose! Did exactly what I needed to do with my bank statements. I was blown away. So quick. So accurate. I immediately purchased the software …. and subsequently upgrades, and am well on the way to getting back-financial data into Quicken. (Converting XLS to QIF is another story … but I’ve got that sorted now as well.)

    This product is outstanding.

I also want to acknowledge the tremendous customer service, and in particular, Tammy. 12,000 miles away she doesn’t have to be accommodatiing, let alone nice to me. But she is. The customer service is as outstanding as the product.

Needed a quick way to analyze a vendor’s invoice. having worked on OCR projects (the PDF was scanned) I was amazed at the accuracy and speed. In seconds I had 4 pages in excel and started working. If my client’s are looking for a PDF decoder, this is where I would take them.

PDF2XL is absolutely brilliant! I’ve been working with computer software and hardware since 1978 in many different capacities; including technical support, software designer, engineer and project manager. After 23 years as a technical career professional I decided to open my own construction business. One of the most obvious things that I learned while working with computers is that technology can be leverage in an industry or area of life. The residential building business is probably one of the most “low-tech” industries and I’ve been able to gain an edge in a very difficult market, against some very savvy and experienced competition, by leveraging technology to increase productivity, quality and customer satisfaction. What most people probably don’t realize is that the residential building business relies heavily on cell phones and fax machines and most sub-contractor and supplier pricing is provide via fax or PDF file and hardly ever in Word or Excel format. PDF2XL is a “Godsend”. I am currently working on a project that involves thousands of price quotes from a variety of suppliers and most of the information is in PDF files and some is just plain hand-written. PDF2XL will allow me to quadruple my productivity as work through arranging, organizing and compiling the cost data from the thousands of price quotes that I’m working through. I had evaluated several other products that claimed to be exclusively designed to convert PDF files to Excel spreadsheets and they all miserably failed to accurately convert the data. I was about to resign myself to the fact that there probably was no accurate solution to address the problem so I ventured onto the internet one last time to locate a program that might work and that’s when I found PDF2XL. I’m so impressed with this application that I’m tempted to brag to my competitors about it. My commendations to the developers for creating this incredibly brilliant solution that is now on my list of top 3 best software applications that I’ve used in the last 32 years!!!

One of the most simplest form of PDF to XL converter which ever found in the Web. This will help me to convert large data files which im getting from the back end office with most of datas pan national and may not relevent to me . This is handy tool to bring down weightage of such large data files and this converter helps to streamline my required data with ease. As a trial, when i downloaded my large mobile bill which comes in pdf form and would have thought analysing my calls and the time spent on each call. Congniview has helped me to analyse those call datas and spend time only on those productive calls. Thnaks a lot…

  13. Hanna on March 5th, 2010 1:13 am

I have been using other converters untill I settle for the best one. I have found this one to be more flexible and friendly. I does not limit the functions i wanted to use. Unlike other softwares I tried, it allowed me to convert my scanned PDF document with out upgrading or downloading another version. Superb!

The Video tutorial was very helpful too.

I need to convert big data every month and I am very likely to buy this software.

    Thanks a lot.

  14. Susan M on March 5th, 2010 4:33 am

I purchased PDF2XL last year when we had an immediate need to extra some data from a Client’s .pdf files. I found the software through an internet search, found positive reviews, and downloaded the trial. It worked just like it said, although I had no idea it would be so fast! We upgraded immediately to PDF2XL OCR, used it to get out two big projects, and saved hours of effort. We went on to other back-to-back deadlines, and this fantastic software sort of slipped off the radar screen-sorry Cogniview – but it was our loss! I started using PDF2XL OCR again recently, and each time I use it, I am amazed again at the ease of use and the excellent results. I look like a star to the Project Managers because they hand me something that they think they’re going to get back in an hour or two, and I bring it back to them in 5 minutes or less. I almost feel like I’m holding out on the rest of my co-workers because I have the best tool at my disposal, and they didn’t even know something like this exists! I was feeling a little guilty about that and showed it to two of the guys today that have been doing manual data extractions – they were blown away. I guess I’ll probably have to do their work too, until the boss shells out for another copy (but I’m not going to feel guilty about having the best tools in the building anymore!) We are very pleased with our purchase and would recommend it to anyone that doesn’t have time to waste manually re-creating data tables from .pdf files. See- it’s 4:30 and there’s nothing left on my to-do list for the day. I might as well stroll over to the brewhouse for a cold one. Thanks, Cogniview!

All I have to say is “that made it easy”.

  16. Nigel Brown on March 6th, 2010 4:37 am

Even in an electronic commerce world not many places will give you excel format data, but they can be talked into doing a pdf of it. PDF2XL is working well for me.
However, I couldn’t get trial version to automatic table detection of the conversion – but it will do once table is highlighted
It could be smarter in converting dot point lists into excel columns ie gathering multi-line dot points into one cell – but maybe I’ve missed a setting.
Seems better than other products around so I expect to buy it

Due to a problem with an accounting application, I needed to convert 2 years of accounting data than were in more than 1300 pdf pages. The process has been easy an fast. Only for the time saved, the product has already payed itself.

  18. Gale Rhoades on March 6th, 2010 9:33 pm

When I convert a .pdf it is with the goal of being able to create a new document without retyping everything. Authors of conversion software, including PDF2XL Pro, seem to believe that retaining the format and background graphics matters more than producing an editable document. In my case, I get documents of previous versions provided by the publisher for the purpose of saving typing time in the production of the new work (the author’s original files rarely contain the final edits). Hours spent undoing converted formatting and layout is, quite simply, a waste of everyone’s time and effort.

This is especially true in the matter of multi-column works where line wrapping results in hyphenated words. The conversion process inserts hard hyphens followed by spaces which must be manually edited to get the correct word forms.

And if the gutters are very narrow, words and parts of words may end up converted to the wrong paragraph!

All very frustrating, especially when time is short. And not at all what I want to PAY for….

I’ve been looking for a simple easy (and accurate) program to convert the reports from our ERM system to Excel for analysis. All reports come out as PDF and there has been many hours spent retyping data into Excel. I have just downloaded the trial version and processed two easy reports and one rather difficult one. PDF2XL handled them with ease. I’m on my way to the purchase screen now. Thanks for a great product!

We were opening our first store and I had set up 15,000 products on our computer system in one week, barcodes included. I was using excel files to import batches of products. Unfortunately, many of our vendors would not send us excel files with their product info, but pdf files instead. PDF2XL allowed me to do the job quickly with the pdf files.

Our audtitors needed a number of ledger accounts in full for the audit, one account is a couple hundred pages long, with the converter, i am able to print these to pdf and convert it quickly. last year we spent weeks copying to excel and then submit, bit by bit and had developers in to ammend our software. with this cogniview product, i can get the auditors everything they need in minutes and have it in excel as they requested…. FANTASTIC product and by far the best of its type….from South Africa

    This software is really amazing!
I love the option of having the ability to make multiple tables and give them a header name.
Actualy, all the options PDF2XL provides are incredibly usefull and I’m really cosiderating purchase the product!
There is something that I would like to do with the software and I’m not sure that it come with that option, once I have all my tables created, how do I do to export them lined up on horizontal position?
I mean, table 1 on position A, table 2 on position B, etc to appear like that on my excel file.
Thank you for making this wonderful software for us!

I had use couples converters. I found this PDF2EXL is very flexible and friendly.

The interface is firendly & quick and easy to use & The Video tutorial was very helpful too.

    1. Seems following feature not able to work
    A. move the whole field by dragging it by the drag handle on the top left corner. Additionally, you can drag multiple fields together by first selecting them (Shift+Click inside the field to add it to the selection), and then keeping the Shift key pressed when dragging one of them.

    B. to keep the indentation and line wrapping of the field’s contents, you can mark it as text and ensure that the appropriate options are set in the Format settings page.

    2. I wish above feature is workable due some times I need to merge the field together

    3. I wish is able to change the order after mark field

    4. I wish is able to change the order after the table marked table 1, 2, 3

    5. Other thing want to know, do you also provide an upgrading price if I want to upgrad my version to higher after I buy the version of PDS2XL.

Any way I would like to the it now & practice asap.

    Thanks with B. Rgds.,

I am a forensic accountant and deal with .PDF file ALOT in my work. I recently received a 635 page, 10-column ledger in abode and was asked to schedule all of it to Excel for analysis. I Googled “convert PDF to Excel” and saw several companies offering to do the same thing. After downloading, testing and installing different packages (and not liking any of them) I downloaded PDF2XL and to my amazement and great delight it did actually what I needed. After 10 minutes of testing on the sample download I purchased the full version. It has given me my spreadsheet in literally 8 minutes, instead of the probably 40+ hours it would have taken to data enter the information. I will difinately be recommending this software to my co-workers and bosses.

We have a project to compare an image file (PDF) with an input worksheet file. Our current reconciliation process is very manual that compares the worksheet file with the printed copy of the image. This process is currently costing the firm 5 employees. It is not only burning the firm’s money, but also putting the company at huge risks. Other options have been explored (PDF to TXT, PDF to Database) but none have worked out to date. Upon further cost benefit analysis, we opted to explore other alternatives.

A day after googling the various available technology, I found COGNIVIEW’s PDF2XLStoOCR. It provides us a new perspective of solving our problem. I have downloaded the product and looks very very promising. I hope that the application has API’s that we can use to integrate with our existing application.

My first impression: This is exactly what I have been looking for !!

IF I see this correctly, PDF to Excel does PDF conversions to both Excel and MS Word files.
I’ve dreamed of being able to do this for years.
I’ve only used the PDF to Excel software on one document.
My very first effort was an instant sucess. I’m sold as soon as I hear a price and license terms for a private individual, I’m going to get it before somebody changes their mind!! (I do not mean me.)

  31. Timothy Malone on March 14th, 2010 8:53 pm

I looked at several other converters and went thru testing of how they converted what the pdf files I revieve. I decided to go with Cogniview PDF2XL because it has the greatest flexablity for converting into excel and because of their support.

This tool was being used by a couple individuals within our organization and I just ordered another 5 licenses for different users. It is great and saves a tonne of time for reports that only come in Excel. One main use is I will give it to our receivable person and this will allow for better drilling down into the details once it converts the pdf. to Excel.

WOW!! What a HUGE timesaver this product is!! I had to input 15 complex trial balances into Excel, and I thought … someone MUST have figured out a way to get data from a PDF into excel, so I did a search, and VOILA! Cogniview to the rescue!! The product worked flawlessly … and instead of working all night to load the data, I was able to import the data quickly, and made it home in time to have dinner with my family. THANK YOU!!! I found the product very easy to use for simple PDFs but I cannot find a way to create a layout that has varying columns. I am reading a booking form that has 2 columns at the top, threee in the middle and 2 at the bottom. I only seem able to create a single table with a fixed number of columns for a page.

I would also like to know if it is possible to run the program from a script so that the process could be automated as part of a data import function.

My company owns and operates Subway Restaurant’s. We would need weekly data from each of our 30 stores based on what type of sandwiches were bing ordered. Each store’s report came across as a PDF file and is roughly 7 pages long! I was always behind on my reporting (due to it taking close to an hour per store to decipher and filter thru the reports and re-enter the data in an organized excel spreadsheet). My boss had to constantly ask if the data was available yet. Unfortunately the answer was usually no! PDF2XL has saved me so much time and frustration! With one quick template and a few VLOOKUP formulas, my productivity has improved immensly due to this product! I love it!

I searched the web for a good pdf to excel conversion tool. I tried about 7 different tools before finding this one. Some of the others did an OK job, but many had problems getting the rows to match up perfectly. This tool is much more flexible and I love the fact that I can create my own columns and rows. I’m dealing with very large pdfs (some are over 2000 pages) and they are in a very awkward format with table structure crossing multiple pages, but changing every once in a while. This tool allows me to assign a table format across the entire document, or multiple tables on a per page basis. It would be REALLY nice if I had the ability to assign multiple table structures across multiple pages (instead of the current single page limitation).

  47. Joao on March 25th, 2010 12:20 pm

As an IT manager I find this tool pretty much appropriate for any type of users. One thing though…you should not name it PDF2XL but instead PDF2Anything ’cause it really gets the work done in any type of file.

I have been looking for an OCR capability that would enable me to program the OCR to automatically copy and paste text from a PDF into an Excel file or even store in a flat file for Excel to pick up automatically. I have researched all types of software that could scan and copy and paste into another file. I found PDF2XL OCR and downloaded the trial version and I am very impressed with the capabilities of this software! I especially like the flexibility of selecting the desired text as a table and viewing it in my Excel file and creating my own columns and rows, and being able to select multiple tables across a document. It allows me to organize a PDF document to my desired format. I have shared and done a demo for my team and they are very impressed with this tool as well! I will be purchasing the full version very soon. Thank you for creating this very useful tool!

    Hadar,

I discovered PDF2XL by doing a typical Google search and am so glad I did. I had a critical data recovery project that could not be accomplished without capturing PDF data and converting it to Excel. Prior to finding your product, I had resigned myself that manual recreation of this data (approx. 1000 rows and 3 columns of data!) was my only option.

After finding PDF2XL, I was able to select, capture and accurately convert all of my PDF data to Excel in roughly 30 minutes (and without having read any manual or directions!). PDF2XL is a super intuitive and wonderfully powerful product. I couldn’t recommend it more highly.

    Sincerely,

    Ed Hauber

Worked great! Saved me hours of work. Had a problem with 3 columns very close together that I couldn’t get separated before the conversion, but the rest of the file came across perfectly…and it was easy to split out just that 1 area once I had the whole report in Excel. Brilliant, thanks!

Its amazing…. But all files should be converted ignoring whoever the producer of file is because nowadays all ledgers of investments, bank statements etc. are transmitted to the accountholder in pdf format. 57. Robert Chen on April 7th, 2010 4:09 pm

The PDF2XL is great with interface of following function.
    1. Split columns
    2. merge columns
    3. table append to another table being grouped together
    4. layout save – to save layout format forms for regular paperwork to excel
    5. open layout for the same format paperwork to excel

    following function needed:
    1. I use set field heading for the data is not able to ocr from image box
    2. in conversion show field option once/every line/every page/every table
problems (based no any data inside field):
    a. set once; the field heading filled will not be shown on excel sheet if there is no any data inside the field.

    b. set every table the field heading filled will be shown following the right column of table

    The best solution :
    1. I hope the field heading filled is able to be brought/shown according to the order of field no matter there is any data included or not.
But it should not be shown on excel when the in conversion show field option set with once.
This solution will help me to auto. bring the concern data to excel for which kind data is not able to be ocr by PDF2XL for the data included by a image box.

    2. I hope the OCR function is able to retrieve the digital data for internation language too.

I doubt why the PDF2XL OCR version is not able to read the data in image area. For your information, some documents is created by Microsoft Words with combind printing function. They put the digital data print into the image form from scanner.

Anyway I would like to say the PDF2XL OCR version is good enough.

For your information, I just bought the PDF2XL Enterprise version.

The PDF2XL software has already saved me a lot of time and energy, for various tasks. Definitely worth getting my organisation to buy it!

I second the above mentioned wish for more complex tables (varying numbers of columns per page, grouping rows together in one cell), but I realise that that would get very complicated and would, even if such a thing were possible, probably compromise the inituitiveness of the program, which is one of its great benefits.

  65. Inga Stephenson on April 26th, 2010 11:48 pm

    Hello!
I work at the hotel. Our reservations program is able to issue the rooming lists in .rtf format (which can be printed or converted into PDF). However, sometimes meeting planners have millions of other things they need to add to this list or even just for the matter of reviewing and calculations we prefer having these lists in Excel.
    Imagine….. re-typing a rooming list with 200 double rooms (equaling to 400 guests) with everyone’s room type, check-in and check-out dates, etc….
Thank you for keeping this just in my imagination since I do not have to do it! PDF to Excel enables me to convert the whole list, numbers of pages in the matter of minutes. The only time consuming process is formatting the Excel file later, adding data filters and “prettying” it up but I am sure it’s all because I just do not know how to use the converter properly. I have ony been using it just for basic converting because most of the time my clients need it not even right NOW but YESTERDAY!
Thank you again for me being able to offer better customer service to my clients.
I purchsed the program on my own since it is not that easy to prove the necessity of certain file formats to people that do not use them regularly… but it’s my money well spent!

  66. Marie Rawnsley on April 27th, 2010 12:39 pm

Having tried several different converters – all of which failed to be able to provide all the functions i needed. I have to say PDF2XL proved exceptional.
    Good points -
    1. It allowed me to specify the type of column format and how to export it into excel.
    2. It allowed me to split not only columns but rows as well and has a handy save layout to use again.
    3. It (and believe me some of the other readers didn;t) brought the data in accurate and true.
    4. The trial was for 10 pages not 3 as in most cases – this enabled a good test sample to check.
    5. All the data pages can be selected independent of the header which means no wierd reults in the middle of the data. Also titles can be edited and amended.
    6. And finally easy to follow instructions all the way. No guessing required!

Sorry can not really think of any negatives right now ….

We are testing the software to minimize our manipulation requirements when extracting data from excel. We have had to get really, really creative when we extract data from pdfs for the work we do. This can mean taking 8000+ page documents and putting the data in to an excel document for manipulation into a visual display of data. If your tool meets our expectations to do this with one simple extraction we will have made around $20,000 – $50,000 in labor costs, rapidly expanding our opportunities to improve our own tools. Thanks for the opportunity!

PDF2XL is invaluable for tracking my investments. I can log onto the Financial Company’s website and download the details of various portfolios, but these are all in pdf format. I wanted to track changes in the underlying investments and balked at the task of transferring all this information to Excel. PDF2XL has made it a simple job and having converted the whole file once, now I only transfer the prices and values of the underlying investments using the clipboard facility and can track what is really happening.

    Well done!

You have made a great tool — very easy to use. I had a PDF report with a number of pages of tables, all the same format. I just followed the instructions and instantly had my Excel spreadsheet. Thanks very much!

If I could make one suggestion though– I would prefer not to have to go to the online help to understand some of the more advanced features. We have over 50GB of scanned documents a total of over 16000 files that we use to construct maintnenance planning databases for ships. We obviously use OCR in this process but the poor quality of the orginal manuals makes this a real problem.

I have just tried to convert some sheets to Excel with PDF2XL Enterpise; sheets that defied all previous attempts and WOW it works. Ok there are still some corrections we will have to make but the vast majority of the work is done. It’s just a pity we are at the ‘mopping up’ stage of this project and not at the start.

Our suppliers typically send out price lists as PDF’s. We have an internal price list for our staff, made in Excel, so we can update and calculate standard markups, etc. It was very frustrating trying to “re-make” the suppliers price lists to conform to ours. Now we can download the new price PDFs, easily and quickly convert them to useful files, and incorporate them into our system.

I am a PhD scholar and i downloaded this software for converting companies financial statements (in PDF form) to Excel in order to analyse relationship among different financial and economic variables. No doubt it is great software and i will recommend my students at University to use it for preparing their semester assignments. One thing i would mention that some times i need to compare financial statments of several companies but this software records new table below the old table, i did not find a way to recored the new table in front of the old table. If this could happen this software would not be having any match with any other Excel converting softwares. Thank you.

This is the software to use when you need to export PDF files to Excel. In particular, it makes the export of charts much easier, sine this feature is not readily available in other OCR software. It makes it easy by simply creating the chart like data and then exporting it to Excel. Besides being very user-friendly, it comes with lots of help and tutorials.

OmniPage can’t hold a candle to Cogniview!

I’ve been an OmniPage user for the last 3 versions and they all were only ‘adequate’ at the job of converting scanned pdf to Excel. I tried Able2extract, 123 PDF Converter, and 3 other OCR programs to see if I could find a good one instead of just an adequate one.

Obviously I’m not new to PDF OCR, yet Cogniview absolutely wowed me. The speed by which I can now do my work with far more accurate results than the other OCR programs I’ve used is a huge improvement. The difference is night and day.

I have been looking at different conversion software to help streamline our operations. Our Production Manager is retiring at the end of next month and we will not be replacing him; therefore a productivity increase is mandatory. We are currently manually inputting data from customer purchase orders to generate packing lists and invoices that are Excel based. After first trying Paperport Professional, I found your product to be far superior in converting a scanned PDF file into Excel. PDF2XL is going to save hours of input, eliminate typos and add information that we previously didn’t have in our system. I know you will continue to improve the OCR capabilities and I look forward to using your product for years to come. Thanks.

Feel weeks ago, I needed to have some information, which was in PDF files written in Excel spreadsheets.
I tried to copy that from PDF straight to Excel and what I’ve got was an unusefull image.
Then, what I had to do was copying from PDF to Word, work on the data, “tabulating” each kind of data for every line of Word file and, then, copying it to Excel, using the tool to convert text into columns.
Do you think it was done? No, it was not completed yet. I needed to check each cell to see if a data was divided in two different cells and correct it.
I began to do that and, after two working days dedicatted to this job, after completting around 30% of the job, a colleague who needed the same data converted into Excel, sent me all the data already converted into Excel, after feel working hours.
I couldn’t beleave that, so, he explained that he found PDF2XL and made that convertion very easily. He sent to me the link for the evaluation version.
Few days later, I had another convertion to make and then, watched the instruction video and installed evaluation version in my computer.
It was amazing how fast I could get all my data converted from PDF to Excel.
Cogniview offered me a free extention of trial period, which alowed me to use it in another job two weeks later.
The evaluation version of PDF2XL was the key to convince me of the great usefulness of the software and to make me decide to purchase it.

I needed to analyse bank statements for a client and it looked like a daunting task as this would take many hours work in retyping and the client didnt have online banking to order a .csv file. I scanned the documents in and was able to select the columns and rows I needed to convert data. it was great to be able to add sheets and exclude data I didnt require. This saved me many many hours and as a result made the job more profitable. I recently contacted support services and was surprised with a quick response to my satisfaction.

I’ve used this software to convert pdf files to excel and it works fine except the version I have has some limitations on which type of pdf files to convert to excel. For example, I can’t convert scanned pdf file to excel and I would love to do that at no additional expense to my company.

    Thanks,

  138. Amanda on July 13th, 2010 10:10 am

Unfortunately, any cell that has more than two rows of text seems to be lost in translation and would take hours to actually convert into the correct table format. May be quicker to type from scratch.

I tried the free trial version and found it very easy to work with. After my trial period was up I tried several different programs that were also offered for free on the internet. None of them worked as well as this one so I purchased it. It makes my job much easier.

I was looking for such a software for long time. Recently i used another one which converts the pdf to Xl in a fast and simple way. But then i needed to find another software to merge all those separate XL sheets. But this software has both the features together. And in this only i got an option to select only those areas which i needed to convert. Good work!! But no clue about the future support. Sorry i just used it today and i need to buy it soon.

This will be short and simply, just like using PDF2XL. I have saved my company over 40K dollars by using PDF2XL, we would have had to do some major software changes in order to get the reports we use turned into excel docs that we could manuever. This is the best product around, not just for myself but for my company.

Thank you so much, one very very satisified customer!!!!!

I am an insurance salesman and receive leads from my company. There is a lot of data on a lead sheet and most of my colleagues transfer this data to 3×5 cards. However, I designed a database to hold the data and provide many features a manual system cannot do – like clicking a button to map the lead’s address. The problem then was getting the data into the database. Hence, I downloaded PDF2XL. I now convert the data from the PDF file to an Excel file then import it into my database. I still need to tweak the PDF2XL layout a bit but when I have it perfected, I will have a 3 step, no hassle, no error process that will save hours of manual work. I love this product.

  156. Bernie Russell on August 5th, 2010 5:11 am

I work for an investment bank in the regulatory reporting IT team. We automate the production of many reports and regulatory returns. We often receive these in .pdf format and then need to convert them to an alternative format such as .xls in order to automate their production.
The Cogniview PDF2XL converter should make this a very quick and easy process.
After using the trial version I will be making a case to buy the full version.

  157. Natan Edelman on August 5th, 2010 4:15 pm

I was working on about 100 pdf where I have to extract lists which has several columns. This tool helped me a lot as I saved so much of manual work that would be copy pasting line by line or page by page. It looks easy but doing it for so many pdf is a pain.

    Dear CogniView: Love your product!

I have a client that required conversion of some 11″x17″ spreadsheets that were scanned in PDF format. Your PDF2XL OCR worked great. I would suggest one feature to add…some documents get scanned at a less than perfect angle and when you try and pull out certain columns they are overlapping the other columns. Can you add a feature to rotate the scan a little? That would enhance your tools that allows column by column extraction.

I’m building an application to analize a large quantity of data from a mainframe which is provided in PDF form. I tried unsuccessfully to get the administrator to give me a data dump from which I can design my own database. Tried several converters but none of them could get the columns to display correctly. PDF2XL does the job accurately, quickly, and easily. It is well worth the purchase price and I have since upgraded to the Enterprise version.

As far as I’m concerned this is the best software in this niche market, and among the best-written software of any kind. Well done!

I have been using the PDF2XL for while then I ugraded to PDF2XL OCR capturing data from pdf attachents from our customers to increase the character recognition process but still there are characters that the engine was not able to recognize. I read something about the PDF2xl Enterprise and immediately upgraded my version. I can say that this is the best product, although cheap but powerful software I have used to capture data without any exception so far no matter what type of documents will be converted to excel. The OCR engine on this software was tremendously improved. I strongly recommended to others to get a copy and use this software to eliminate the manual process of capturing data to excel.

I am truly amazed at how quickly my PDF file converted directly into Excel. I admit that I barely scanned the instructions and was able to convert my file in minutes. I found this program after searching the Internet and using a website that claimed to convert files. Well, I uploaded my file and waited for them to return the Excel version, but I received an email stating they were unable to do so. After finding this software, I decided to use the trial version and I am extremely impressed!

Production is paid at a set level in my company. If you spend 10 hours doing actual analysis to assist a client that’s a good thing…if you spend 10 hours just to get data input, that’s not so much a good thing. This product will dramatically improve time spent on productive work. Literally time is money, and time well spent is creates production not just busyness.

I just purchased the PDF2XL Enterprise version and am just starting to learn it. I am hoping it will convert scanned images such as power point slides as well as the trial version worked on converting PDF data tables to Excel. So far, this product is fantastic. In two days time, I have converted 12 spreadsheets that had a total of 15 colums and 250 rows. That saved my company a bundle of money. It used to take me two days to retype each spreadsheet, so instead of needing 24 days to produce 12 spreadsheets, it took me 2. Thank you for saving me!

I had a pdf of a bill of material with 119 items. I tried to cut & paste out of adobe acrobat but all the columns got lost. A colleague started to “brute force” through it but I found the free trial of PDF2XL. Once I figured out how to split, merge, and move columns, it was a snap. It was a bit difficult to do multiple pages. I ended up doing it in several steps instead of figuring out how to best do multiple pages at once. Otherwise, great product. If I find myself needing to do this sort of work all the time, I’ll definitely spend the $125!

We have a 5,000 plus page PDF file with over 200 pages of table data that we needed to convert to text and/or excel.

I had tried 2 other brand software packages, neither of which could do the conversion for a variety of reasons.

With PDF2XL, I was able to convert 10 pages of these tables (trial version only allowed 10 pages) within 10 minutes of using some help and it quickly converted these pages to within 98% of what we needed. The other 2% is something we can deal with easily enough with our other software (SAS) to split a column into 2 pieces that was not well defined within the actual PDF file, so I can not necessarily hold PDF2XL inadequate to properly split this particular column.

This will save us hundreds of hours and ensure 100% consistency for very high quality information that we need for our predictive modeling activities.

I will suggest this is the package we should buy as it was very intuitive, easy to use, and it worked!

This undoubtly will save a number of our staff from having to do this manually which will be a God send to these people.

And I really appreciate its trial version to select the specific pages I needed to test my evaluation on.

Our business requires us to process vendor price lists into a standardised database. In the past we have spent hours and hours re-keying data uneccessarily when information could only be provided in pdf. We went to the web looking for a solution and tried various programs. PDF2Excel however came up trumps, none of the others gave the flexibility and ease of use. We have purchased PDF2Excel OCR and would highly recommend this solution.

We were downloading an excel file from the local police department website of outstanding warrants and had created a program to compare to our campus population. Then the police dept changed the way they were delivering the file to be only in pdf. Had a great tool and then we couldn’t use it.

So I tried your evaluation version to see if we could get the data from pdf back to excel. It worked good, except the addresses are merging in one cell and we need to separate them for the address match in the other program, and the excel files we were getting had the columns in different order, but I think the developers can change our program to deal with that.

  205. Paul Johnson on September 17th, 2010 6:34 am

There are many programs on the market that do PDF to office conversions. Many of these programs also try to replicate all features of the Adobe Acrobat program. This program focuses on doing one thing (exceedingly well). If you need to port data to Excel, none of the programs I’ve tried come close to this application. The built in tool that allows you to define data columns is fantastic. This feature, along with the real-time output matrix makes this program second to none for Excel data extraction. If your source PDF file was generated directly from another application, as opposed to being scanned…you will end up with an almost perfect conversion/extraction. No, I’m not being paid for this comment…The free download of the trial verion and 5 minutes of testing will make you a convert.

Without this software, we would be forced to manually tranlate the PDF files, costing us from 2-6 hours per file. The cost saving from using this software are very material to our bottom line. In fact, PDF2XL paid for itself on the first file used. Great program!!

I am a trainer in financial and risk matters. Very often I have to analyse financial statements and I had to spend hours keying in the data into excel. With this great tool, I can quickly convert the published financial statements into excel for editing and analysis.

I find this to be a great productivity tools and have recommended it to several of my friends.

An area of improvementwould be to convert the blank spaces to “0″ instead of filling in a “-”.

I sepecially like the merge and split column function.

We are always looking for creative ways to streamline our process. One of the roadblocks has always been PDF files. This program is by far the best one yet for conversion from PDF to a more user friendly format. We have already created a number of new best practices specifically around this software. Thanks for a great product!

I just used your PDF2XL trial version and I got shocked when result came up. It was so perfect, unbelievable. Before this software, I used Nuance PDF Converter 7 but it gave me a worst output so I thought that this software will also going to be the same but I was wrong. It was amazing. Really. Now I will try to buy full version

We help organizations convert accounting systems and help them integrate ADP HRB with Deltek GCS Premier among other things. I found this product online after spending hours trying to reformat a PDF report from ADP Preview (the only way it is offered) into an Excel spreadsheet so that it could be then transferred to Access. I downloaded the demo and highlighted the table and in an instant it did what took me hours to do! I was very impressed and have bought the enterprise version and unlimited upgrades as I will be using this product almost daily! My thanks to the developers!

I served my purpose well and I found it veyr easy to use. You have to be careful when converting several pages at once because some data tends to get lost. So you need to check what was converted and then convert the missing data. A bit of a pain but still much less laborious than keying in the data manually!

Amazing Tool! That’s my conclusion after using PDF2XL to convert several downloaded PDF files to useable/searchable Excel files. As an analyst in my organization I regularly gather competitive data from the internet, which is most commonly published in .pdf format. Myself or other employees normally spend hours trying to properly copy/type/organize and otherwise convert the data into a useable format (most often Excel). I was able to complete the same painstaking conversion task for several files in less than 10 minutes, and the results were complete and accurate. On top of that, PDF2XL is simple to use, I was able to began converting my files almost immediately. This is a homerun product that I have already recommended to other colleagues.

  220. Elliot on September 29th, 2010 3:47 am

I thought for sure — with all the fantastic reviews I read that this would be the product for me.

I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and office 2010. I was trying to convert bank reports received in PDF to XL in order to automate the reconciliation process.

No matter what pdf file I open — I can see the data in the the Conversion Preview area, however ALL of the pages in the Document View are blank. This makes it very difficult (actually impossible) to adjust the table layout.

I tried re-saving the files in PDF/A format – and that did not help. I tried converting to text – and printing to pdf – and that too did not work. The pages in the document view are always blank.

Maybe I will try it again when a new version is out. If it had worked the way it was supposed to – it would have been a huge time saver.

Greetings, I am a service technician at an areospace company and one of my duties is to set up spare parts lists for each machine in the plant. All of the list from manufacturers are PDF and I usually only need part of the list. before iusing this soft ware I spent hours Retyping, I have no trouble with this conversion system and now the lists take only a few minutes.
If I could improve anything it would be the ability to read Scanned pdfs better as I usually need to manually adjust ALL the fields even after setting one up as a form. each of the scanned pages is different for some reason. Other than that I am a happy camper.
Good job great product thanks for the lack of headaches.
    Cheers, Joe

I have a consulting business that among other things reviews telecom bills for large organizations. These bills are frustrating in that they generally come in PDF format and are difficult to parse. I have not had much luck with other programs as one of their failures is to handle tables on multiple PDF pages.

Well, PDF2XL handled this with style and simplicity, and I love its ability to adjust columns. Its a great product worthy of a few bucks to purchase.

PDF2XL fills a void in the modern office that even the leading PDF software companies have yet to address — the conversion of data from PDF to Excel sheets. It’s saved me an incalculable amount of time, energy, and money by simplifying a long, mundane process of endless re-typing. A task that would have taken me 5+ hours before can now be done in just 10 minutes, leaving me with more time to do other things. I will be recommending this product to all of my colleagues and friends. Thank you, PDF2XL!

My company purchased PDF2XL with the intent of ‘scraping’ data from publicly available documents. Since the format of the documents varies greatly by jurisdiction, I have to create a new layout for each one. After spending less than one day with PDF2XL Enterprise, I can specify the ayouts I need, even for some complicated reports.

Our old-school system generates a preview of our company price list for printing purposes but is unable to save or export the list to recognizable file types. I was happy to find a pdf exporter (similar to Mac’s print to PDF) so I could now email our price list to clients in PDF format. But my next problem was comparing 50 pages worth of prices against competitor’s prices. I was ready with my excel formulas — if only I had our price list in excel format! Typing each price into excel with over 2500 SKUs could be hell and a waste of time so I googled and found Cogniview. The trial version impressed me — if only I could export ALL the pages instead of 10. My boss was impressed at the sample price comparison chart I did vs competitor using the few pages I got to export to excel using Cogniview’s trial version. I told him I could do it much faster and update the price list in excel more regularly if I had the full version. He saw how it made us more competitive to be able to do intensive analyses via excel so he finally approved the purchase of Cogniview’s full version. Cogniview has now become a regular work tool! Thank you for creating such a powerful software.

Not only does the PDF conversion to excel work (on a table across multiple pages, no less), this program was incredibly easy to use. I’m an expert user, so I really appreciated the multiple levels of help – from videos (no thanks :-) to a help file entry that exactly answered my question. 1600 rows of data extracted from 50 pages of PDF file in under 15 mins from when I first found their website… solid install, fantastic user interface.

This is an exceptional value. We just converted a 38 page listing of transactions for a client in a matter of minutes. Did have some clean up to do on data, but estimated savings from re-entering data would be 5 times the cost of program. Getting ready to work on some 100+ page reports. This is by far one of the easiest products of its kind to work with.

I work with engineering drawings that some times consist of a large bill of materials, these drawings are either saved as a PDF from the drawing program (like autocad) or scanned into a pdf from a paper blue print, I purchase the parts from the aforementioned bill of material, I always create an Excel spread sheet from the bill of material so that I can edit and add information as I need. I downloaded PDF2XL to my home computer to see if the program works as promised, and I am very impressed, I will be talking to my leaders about trying this in our office environment

    Hello everyone,
The best thing about Cogniview PDF2XL is the Preview part and the table selection because it shows you instantly the output data without having to wait until the excel file and then compare with the original PDF file. Because I handle a lot of tables with huge amount of data this feature is really convenient and I have compared quite a lot of other software being this one the one I chose to buy full version. The trial period helped me a lot to make a decision. The only bad thing was the trial period duration since I would have preferred 30 days.
    Thank you.

This is a fantastic product (PDF2XL) and has saved me considerable time when running 200+ page reports from our antiquated financial systems (which only output to PDF!!).

I am still evaluating and so far, the ability to manually “draw” columns and format accordingly is very flexible for those clunky PDF reports that don’t quite line up.

After evaluation, I will definitely be requesting license purchases via our finance manager.

Thanks and keep up the great work!

I liked the software, even though I could not really make it work for my needs. When I emailed the customer service for a refund, they gave me a run-around. I could see from my bank’s website that they had not refunded my money. Finally after several days, I disputed the charges from my credit card company and got my money back. I doubt their customer service is honest even with their return policy.

  266. hadar on November 1st, 2010 1:00 pm

    Hi Mike,
I’m sorry you feel that way.

Our records shows that a full refund was issued on July 25th, if you did not get your money back I will appreciate if you could send us a record of your credit card charge so we can check it directly with the credit card company and make sure that they will credit your account.

I can assure you that misleading our customers is not our intention and our refund policy is valid and true policy. We seldom get complaints about it. We are certainly not exempt from making errors and we will do our best to correct them and provide our customers the best possible service.

I hope you will change your mind about Cogniview and its employees.

I purchased PDF2XL OCR yesterday after trying the basic program for a few days. After months of struggling with a free online site that converts PDFs to TXT to Excel via wizard, I found this Cogniview program to be absolutely wonderful. I no longer have issues of column alignment and formatting! Thanks to this program, I no longer dread the arrival of monthly commission statements that have to be coded and calculated. This product came recommended by two sources, and now I can see why. Thank you

I was recently handed a 220 page PDF document full of names and address of contacts which need to be imported into a client’s database. Well having already written an Excel parser, I thought how do I get the PDF into Excel? Then I found PDF2XL. Wow. It converted all 220 pages into 5500+ rows in a matter of seconds. Those rows have now been happily parsed and inserted. This has saved A LOT of time, as I would have had to have written a PDF interpreter for that document if I had not found this conversion software. Nice one.

  270. Tanja on November 8th, 2010 5:22 pm

Almost perfect, if it could get automatic read on converting the whole file as per formatting of one page it would be all one might need,
converting 10 pages at the time is good if the file is not as big as some users might have.

Most other tools I have tried require extensive post processing because you must delete headers and footers that are generally converted to text.

Not with your tool. I just identified the areas I wanted clicked to extract the data and Wholla!

    Hadar,
I was probably one of your earliest customers — I can’t now remember where I heard about PDF2XL, but I downloaded the trial version, tried it on a couple of files, and ordered the full version the same day. This was more than 2 years ago. One of the main uses I have made is downloading election data files from state and county election departments, which are often PDF files. Some of these are more than 100 pages long, and all but impossible to use without converting them.

I have been working with computers off and on since 1956, and cannot think of another piece of software that is better designed and easier to use. I consider it the best value of any piece of software I have ever purchased.

Not that I need it, but your customer service is superb, and I enjoy getting your tips on using Excel.

    Live long and prosper!

This program is very helpful for us since we have to type everything contained in a PDF file to an excel file. It also includes splitting columns in to two separate columns which is so similar in excel’s “text to columns” category. Well, all said and done, I’m gonna tell my boss to purchase full version for our company. Thanks a lot!!!

My wife works for a large state university. She has to audit the phone records for her 50 faculty members. The paper report was terrible – lots of pages with very little info on each page.
The communications people made a big deal about overhauling the reporting system, yet, when it was ll said and done, the merely reposduce the same report in a pdf. My wife pleaded with them to provide a data feed, but to no avail.
I downloaded the trial version, converted her reports to data, and started showing her all the different ways to audit her accounts, once it was in a spreadsheet.
Thank you so much for for making her data available to her to manipulate and so saving her hours each month.

One problem, though. The data/numbers I need to extract are in “European format” ##.###,## which caused PDF2XL some problems to do and I think here is an area where PDF2XL ought to be improved. Regardless of the settings in Open Source Cal, I could not extract correctly. I had to first extract to the CSV format and then import those files into Open Source Cal.
I’m new to this product, but the first impression is very good-so easy to use!

I had an audit at work, and my accounting software was fouling all the reports converted to excel – in excess of 80 columns with all the data I didn’t need and my numbers mixed in between those columns… The only good exported reports were in pdf, so I needed to convert them, and there were a lot of them too. I’ve tried a number of different converters but they didn’t help me much, obviously I was reluctant to rely on the online conversions, the protection of data issues and of course time was a factor too. Other converters were not that helpful. The only issue I had was that after conversion I had to edit the data and correct the cells where excel read contents as formulas or the numbers, and especially ‘0.00’, had a space in the cell after the value.
But being able to work in excel instead of pdf has helped tremendously!
Thank you a lot for such a helpful product.

  284. Jaime on November 18th, 2010 9:14 pm

I had to convert some scanned bank ststements in PDF to EXCEL for my audit and this program seemed to be perfect. The only problem is that the statements were from auditee and the auditee made a check mark between each dollar amount and each description. Therefore, PDF2XL could not recognize them as separate and showed them in one cell. Although I could not use the program as I hoped, I think this program is still better than some converting programs.

  285. Gail on November 18th, 2010 10:26 pm

Regarding the scanned bank statements. I just pulled up a scanned bank statement and to split a cell into two or more columns you position the pointer were you want it to split and right click and choose “split here” and it will make another column of data exactly where you want it. You can also drag the orange dotted line of a column to make it wider or thinner.

What an amazing tool… It’s almost like magic and the uses are endless! My company sends many files down in PDF format and of course if it’s a big file it’s nearly impossible to use quickly and efficiently. With PDF2XL, I can now quickly convert, sort and send to my direct reports!

    Thanks You PDF2XL! Truly A Lifesaver/Timesaver!

  288. Julian on November 24th, 2010 5:09 pm

WOW! It worked right away… I am so used to those loooong processes and finally… it was a hoax. But not this time. It was straightforward. No gimmicks. Just works! Thanks, gentlemen. Good piece of technology and very human, I must say. Julian

I’m a recruiter for an athletic department at a small college. Using PDF2XL as a part of my strategy instantly gave me an advantage over every recruiter in the country. My mass mailing approach went from 1,000 a year to 15,000 a year and resulted in 2 of the larger recruiting classes this institution has ever seen in 100 plus years.

LOVE me some Cogniview. Have looked many times for an easy to use, powerful app to convert PDF files to Excel. Your product fits the bill to a “T”. I do a lot of remote accounting work and receive files from clients as PDF, but more times than not, need to have that data in a spreadsheet to create uploads for the accounting software. Working on a project now where my contact is hard to reach and the files are enormous. Now with Cogniview, I can create my own Excel files and not bother her to recreate for me. I may actually get to enjoy more of the Thanksgiving weekend now :-)

Up until this point I’ve been taking a 30 page PDF document and typing it out manually into Excel. Today for the first time I used your program and it was fast and easy. What normally took me anywhere from a half a day to full day of work took me five minutes. I will be referring this program to friends and other companies that I know is looking for the same kind of service.
Thank you for making my job 10x easier and saving me time on all this data entry.

  292. Brigitte on November 29th, 2010 6:11 pm

I was looking for a way to convert several bulks of multiple pages documents dating from 1988 onwards, from PDF to Excel, as quickly as possible, so as to be able to use the data in statistical reports that are to be published soon. I stumble on Cogniview page (Google is my friend!)and downloaded PDF2XL without too much expectation. I was surprised at the amount of date I could convert in a few days, and very accurately at that. The program has several useful tools like Split cells or Multipage layouts that enable a safe and quick conversion. One small hindrance: the numbers in the PDF File are in an specific European Format (1,326 is written 1 326, with a blank space as separators). For each file converted, it is necessary, in Excel, to replace the blank space with a dot (another European Format) so as to enable Excel to calculate the values. But it is a very small problem, considering the staggering amount of files which have been treated so far.

Hi, Have downloaded the Trial Version of pdf2xl and found it very helpful and a massive time saver, as I had to convert a 96 page document to excel. The alteration wer easily done with the spliting and merging of the cells with the helpful tutroial guiding me all the way. With my first project successfully converted I am now planning on purchasing a series of the programs for the company.

I was given the task of converting PDF’s to Excel and was not too fond of the work ahead until I searched the web and found your site. I used the trial offer and was blown away. I kept the secret to myself and the exec’s were surpised of the accuracy and turn-around time, so they came up with another project for me….I made a request to have the full version and now I’m on my way to yet another successful conversion in no time… Thanks for such a great tool.

I am very impressed with PDF2XL and plan on purchasing it when my boss gets back from sick leave. I am the Manager of Information systems here at Warren City Schools in Warren, Ohio. The only thing I can suggest if you could possibly put in as an enhancement is to convert multiple pdfs (with the same formats of course) to 1 excel sheet.

Thank you for a great product!

Hey, Hadar: we perform a ‘v e r y’ manual function of entering item after item of insurance payments into our computer management system. It takes upwards of 12 hours each month to perform entries of anywhere from $.10 to $100′s. Tedious, tedious, tedious. With the .pdf convertor, we can create an Excel spreadsheet and then import the data. Takes ‘maybe’ one hour. What a HUGE timesaver for us and much more efficient. Bless you for this great tool!!!!!

I work with climate reports for the local municipality. We are in the process of valueing all public buildings in order to get facts on how much CO2 emissions they have. These reports come to my desk in PDF files and by using PDF2XL I can transfer all numbers and facts to the spreadsheet the quickest way possible and save A LOT of time. This way we can act faster to make the nessesary changed. Good for me, good for my employer and GREAT FOR THE ENVIRONMENT!

Fantastic tool and very easy to work with.

PDF2XL is the best investment I made. I have tried few PDF to XL conversion softwares until I stumbled upon PDF2XL, my search is over. The conversions are accuracy and the ease of use is second to none. Bought my 1st PDF2XL in 2009, bought another one PDF2XL Enterprise today. The customer service is commendable and efficient. This is one software I will not hesitated to recommend to everyone I meet. Money well spent and saved me a lot of precious time.
    Well done Cogniview.

We work with a lot of information from Customers in pdf format. We do a lot of copying and pasting information from their pdfs. The first day that I used PDF2XL I saved an hour worth of work because I was able to set up a template and export instead of copying and pasting various pieces separately. I only expect it to save more time as I use it more.
The table functionality is the reason we got the software, and it didn’t disappoint me.

Two of us in our office (me on a PC and the other on a Mac) both downloaded the program and tried to convert the same 15-page PDF of a scanned document. Both of us had the same result — which was not the desired output at all. Lots of garbly-gook. And, it didn’t grasp all 15 pages of content either, although in the step where I choose/modify my margins/columns it appears to “take” all the content and columns. The final Excel also contains an ad for purchasing the program, which I find tacky and certainly unusable in my desired output.

I recently wrote a spreadsheet that my colleagues agree will create a whole new service area for my company. The problem was that 2 of the columns would require manual input of roughly 40 entries each to modify each case. We have hundreds of brokers, each with hundreds of clients.
Without this software, the innovation was unusable due to labor and error rates.
Your software has made it possible roll out this new service, which separates us from our competition.

    To whom it may concern,

I have have the ongoing need to convert excel spreadsheets that have been saved as PDF files back into Excel. The computer that originally created these files was stolen so the only option was to retype over 1000 pages! I thought there must be a better way for me to do this I searched the internet and used a couple of other programs that were horrible.

I must honestly say that PDF2XL is simply amazing, I have been using the trial program and now after using it for 3 days I feel like I cannot live without it! needless to say, I will absolutely purchase the program so I may use it anytime I need it. Sincere thanks to the people who developed this life saver of a program.

  312. Michael Hart on December 14th, 2010 6:36 pm

I used to OCR our phone bills for accounting, but when we started receiving this data in PDF format, that wasn’t possible, so we where copy typing the data.

The manual process of extracting call data occupied me all day once a month, I tried many solutions including writing macros and nothing worked the way I wanted it to, until I found PDF2XL Enterprise, with easy to follow demo video clips and simple interface, it’s the best application for extracting data from PDF files, no need for two stage process of conversion than formatting the Excel output (unless you want to), everything is very well thought-out.

The results are superior to every other OCR program I’ve used, I’ve never had any of the common errors you would expect, no zeros that should have been eights, all the options for handling any data quality (including spell check with learning functions) practically eliminates the need for most data cleansing processes.

We receive pricelists for thousands of products every few weeks because we buy gold and platinum jewellery and the costs change with the gold market prices.

Until now I’ve had to spend many hours cutting and pasting pages from PDF files into Excel and then sorting out all of the price columns manually. This sometimes takes up to 3 days.

Yesterday I used the trial version to convert a 10 page price list. It worked beautifully so I purchased the full version with unlimited updates today.

I’ve just converted a 99 page price list with over 4900 products, each with 10 columns of prices, AND IT TOOK LESS THAN 10 SECONDS! The software paid for itself within minutes of downloading it! Amazing product – well worth the price.

I will be recomending this to everyone I know!

  317. Kent M on December 19th, 2010 3:17 am

I started with a nearly 500 page pdf file to convert and manipulate in Excel. Here’s the problem…more and more pdf files, from accounting systems especially, don’t convert well to Excel. The main problem with other converters is that columns on each page don’t match up, so, e.g., column H from page 1 may not contain the same field as column H from page 2. Not so with PDFX2L… the fields automatically format correctly on EVERY page, and you can even see how the data looks before conversion.

I’ve tried 4 or 5 trial versions of converters, and PDF2XL is by far the best.

  318. Rod on December 19th, 2010 10:04 pm

Curse you PDF2XL! My only incentive to learn how to write Excel macros was my ongoing effort to create a macro that would translate the gibberish I got when I copied a PDF file from a website into a reasonable facsimile of in Excel. Now that I have PDF2XL OCR, I can translate page after page in a matter of seconds. Now what am I going to do in my spare time?

It’s not exactly perfect, because it has an annoying habit of translating l for 1 (ell for one)but those are easy to find and correct.

I could go on for hours (because now I have the time), but just let me say thanks for developing such a handy piece of software.

  319. Karen Westbrooks on December 22nd, 2010 9:47 pm

After using the trial versions of several PDF to Excel converters, I decided to purchase PDF2XL because it converted my files to Excel faster and more accurately than all the others. Because our clients are sometimes dealing with large amounts of inventory, it is imperative that we convert their lists in a timely fashion. Only with the help of PDF2XL have we been able to get this done! Before we were having to do it all by hand, sometimes taking all day long!

    Thank you PDF2XL!

A lifesaver! I screwed up (deleted) a file that my wife had painstakingly build in Excel, of members, former members, contacts, etc. for her Barbershop Chorus. There were 352 entries! Fortunately…she had printed out a copy two weeks ago…and had only made a few entries since.

If I can’t fix this I am in a “Dog House” at the Arctic circle.

So I “Googled” and found Cogniview. I was a little skeptical, but downloaded the Trial, and had it “read” the PDF file of her printout. Worked like a charm!! I’m buying it! Relief :)

I accepted a contract over the holidays from a business owner who gave me printed spreadsheets and expected me to do the arithmetic by hand for 160 rows + 12 columns. I asked for the source spreadsheets, didn’t get them, and thought I’d have to reconstruct them in Excel and do the data entry by hand. Then I found cogniview. It was almost too easy — I scanned the multi-page printout (which was crooked), redefined about half of the columns, saved to Excel, and I am completing the project in 10% of the time it would have taken to do it by hand or by redefining and doing the data entry.

I have a business where I audit expense invoices for a client. For the last 2 years I have been copying and pasting between 35-50 pages of data from pdf into excel just so that I can begin the audit process. I tried many solutions including the purchase of the full Adobe Acrobat package ($400) but could not get a clean data export, (the subtotals on the page always messed up the results) so I continued to copy and paste. Using the trial version, I was able to convert a 50 page summary sheet and format it ready for auditing within 35 minutes – the trial version only allows conversion of 5 pages at a time, so it worked in several steps. The task that would have taken me 6 hours to do manually was done in 35 minutes, and now that I have purchased the software I will be able to it much faster since I can convert the whole document at once. A very tedious and unproductive part of my monthly process has just been downsized. Thank you so much!

I get 505 page documents from our financial department at work in a PDF document that has different layouts for even and odd pages. For reasons I can’t understand, they would have me save the document as a text file at work and then TAB through it so I could import it into Excel! I would literally spend TWO DAYS of work doing this every other week.

I searched all over the internet trying to find the best way to do it. I tried at least 6 different methods and software solutions. When I tried PDF2XL, I was floored! It worked so quickly and easily that I actually called my brother to say how amazing it was! I was able to convert 20 hours of work into about 5 minutes! This is absolutely great software!

  346. Michael on January 27th, 2011 9:29 pm

I have tried several PDF converters over the years. some failed to do anything useful and others took almost as long clean up as it would have to retype the thing from scratch. Tried the trial version on a whim, great whim. Converted a 40 page sales history report almost instantly. If the dumbies hadn’t written notes on some of the pages the conversion would have been perfect. took minimul time to cleanup and was ready to drill through on the first pass. I saved the bigger part of a day on this small project. these reports can be 300-500 pages some times. Have shown the program to three other people. Two of them ordered it the same day. Thanks for a great tool.

I tried other products, but there was to many conversion errors – in the hundreds – that needed to be retyped, and that was after only a couple of hundred pages. I was about to give up and found this product. After processing the 3,000 pages I had about a dozen errors that needed to be retyped vs “the other guys” who had hundreds after a couple of hundred pages.

I am managing a lawsuit that has over $7,500,000 in disputed invoices. The invoices are over 3,000 pages, spanning 3 years and document the activity of over 3 dozen timekeepers. I needed an effective way to manage this data. The layout of the data prevented using the ‘template’ feature and each individual page had to be reviewed and fields merged etc. This product has greatly increased efficiency and saved an untold dozens of hours of labor, not only in compiling the data, but its use of the data. What I got at the end of the day was a spreadsheet where I added columns that would allow me to categorize the activities. Specifically, I could sort by timekeeper; take the timekeepers deposition, ask questions about particular entries and then assign an ‘issue code’ to the particular entry. This enabled me to group the ‘issues’ together for presentation to a jury.

My bank only provides PDF Image data for my bank statements as their “Electronic Statement”. This data is in columns and is required to be loaded into an excel file. I tried several methods including some OCR products, Freeware, and Adobe software – none worked well (and all required significant work to validate the data and to correctly put the data into columns.

PDF2XL OCR Signicantly reduced the amount of effort required to compile the data in an acceptable format(10X time reduction). The time reduction resulted in labor cost reduction more than the purchase price.

    Thanks Guys!

This is an AMAZING product. I looked at the short demo, downloaded the trial version, and on the first try successfully converted a tricky PDF into Excel. This has already saved me hours of work!

  353. ramesh on February 10th, 2011 12:00 pm

Let me start off by saying I wish I had downloaded PDF2XL OCR sooner. I never realized how much time went futile over converting pdf text (in table) to excel table, until I could figure out how to make it stop after too many google searchs for applications like this, Instantly downloaded and installed it. I was so relieved for my work getting in fraction of time what it used to take before. I highly recommend this software for anyone doing Data conversion business. It could literally save you too much of time and money, perfectly supporting for an effective delivery.

The best things about this software is:
    1. It is very easy to install and works user friendly.
    2. Supports most of OS platforms.
    2. All the options in the application are self explanatory.
    3. Processing time is too short for any type of conversion.

    Request:
Please ensure that this product has a better visibility on google search.

Thanks to the entire development team and the strategic management.

    Thanks and regards,
    Ramesh

Using this product makes performing a bank rec a breeze, especially when you are trying to halp a client that has not performed a bank rec on any of their three accounts for the past two years and the statements are up to 36 pages long!

I could not find an easier or more accurate product on the market, and I tested a number of them. don’t hesitate to purchase PDF2XL!

Where has this product been? For the past 4 years we have been trying to find a way to convert our university course schedule from PDF to Excel. This has been quite the task seeing as though the format we are given to work with is not user friendly. Thanks to PDF2XL OCR, what normally takes me a few hours, literally took me a few minutes. Our office thanks you and so do our prospective students whom you have assisted. Thank you.

388 pages! Converted in a flash and parsed 100% correctly. I bought it! Enterprise to boot!
I have tested several other programs and none performed to my expectations until now.
This is one slick piece of code and I plan to wear it out!
Thanks for building an application that I desparately needed and is simple enought that anyone can use.

Hi, I had been sent a stream of data in a downloaded pdf file from an accounts package. Was looking at having to get someone to manually type in c4-500 rows of data, but this product is a god send! Fantastic! One question is around multiple pages. Can the programme recognise headings as the data I have is a continuous table, but at every page brak, it restates the headings and has page numbers at the bottom. Thanks! Nik

  358. Michoel Reach on February 18th, 2011 2:39 am

I had been growing very frustrated with trying to get the information in some of our pdfs into Excel. Everything I tried seemed to output to space-delineated text, more or less – totally insufficient for many of our columns. Plus, it sometimes skipped over missing entries, mushing everything to the left. Plus, it got the order of elements all wrong, forcing us into complicated heuristics for parsing them. I found it very hard to trust our results without checking every single element.
Then, today, I saw your product online, and realized that it deals with a pdf the way it really is: By position on the page. Suddenly my pdfs were getting parsed properly. Plus, I could save the templates, and began to realize that a few patterns could handle all the pdfs I have. It’s wonderful.

There are still some of our old pdfs that show up as a bunch of control characters; not sure why.

  359. Michoel Reach on February 18th, 2011 8:47 pm

Now I tried to use the evaluation version of the -OCR edition, to see if it could handle these old pdfs. It says I can’t do it without uninstalling what I’ve got. Now that is annoying.

    It’s fantastic, WOW!
    Well, hello friends.
I must leave my message with my so good impression of the software indeed, as like this.
Suppose you have thousands pdf file recorded of the past order and must make a report of weekly sales by products and daily basis within tomorrow.
For this job I have considered so much with how to complete it in a one day, and had a nightmare where my boss is complaining me why I have not done it on time last night. After waked up, an image has come back in my mind and I remind to consider how to do it finally. Well, thousands of files are recorded by pdf format and thus if I could get its data by excel format, then I can do sort in a excel file, then success to get any required key value for putting into a report.
Once I could remind like it, it must be so easy to approach. Go to google, search by keyword with pdf to excel …….
    Got it. PDF2XL…
    Get Trial ….
    Test it ….
    OKay, done.
I shall buy it today to complete within tomorrow and report complete format of required weekly basis analytical sales report tomorrow evening.
    Yes, I can.

I am working on a legal claim and we received a poorly scanned pdf of a 130 page cost report. Working one page at a time, I have been able to convert the cost report to excel so that we can extract valuable data. Without this tool, I would have been typing for months…at a significant cost to our client. While we do have to edit the excel file, the majority of the information converts well, and we are able to correct the “common” errors. Good product so far! Thanks

  372. Chris Perrier on March 1st, 2011 5:29 pm

This product is outstanding. For years I have struggled to reconcile investment accounts from paper statements by hand. I tried creating my own EXCEL workbook to enter gains/losses and cost basis values, etc. that would match my fiscal year end needs. The company statements are based on the calendar year. It took me days and days, sometimes a month or so to finally get my figures to agree. I begged the company to send reports that would help. Finally I went to Google and typed in the words “EXCEL converter”, scrolled down and found the Cogniview website. What a discovery. Now, I simply download my statements into a PDF file, convert them to EXCEL, adjust a few things, put in the formulas, and it is done. Now, in a few hours I can reconcile 6 months of statements from multiple accounts. Thank you for developing such a wonderful product. It has been a life saver!!!

    Hi Hadar
We were tasked a few days ago with converting a batch of stationery catalogues from .pdf to Excel – a task much too big and urgent for typing out again manually. The way we were advised to do it was to convert each page to a .tif, then run the .tif files through a pre-installed OCR. This was a long and frustrating process, and we often found ourselves tearing our hair out, wondering why we couldn’t just copy the tables straight from .pdf to Excel.
It was this morning we were pointed towards PDF2XL. Within a few hours, we got more accomplished than we’d've managed in 2 weeks without it! The OCR’s fantastically reliable – it doesn’t confuse zeroes with O, like our previous one (nor does it inexplicably decide that our text is upside-down, or create columns in the wrong order, or any of its other little annoyances). It’s great to be able to select multiple tables from each page, edit out the columns we don’t need, and convert them to Excel all in one go.
The only thing I could think of that would make the program better is to be able to resize and merge rows in the same way as columns, for when a long entry runs onto two lines.
In short, PDF2XL has been the answer to all our prayers, and we’re buying it right away!
    Thank you!

I needed to extract bank account details for tax purposes. I started the job by hand. It became evident this was going to take time, besides being tedious.

A Google search found Able2extract and Cogniview PDF2XL. Both similarly priced.

Thats where the comaprison ended. PDF2XL was far more practical and simpler to use. The extracted number results where spot on.

Able2extract was a lot more fiddly, and occassionally would mess up allowing only full page copy instead of a small area of numbers.

PDF2XL was fast, easy to use, and intuitive.
    Would definitely recommend this.

The time it saves me was worth the price.

My client has been coming backto me, every few months to help her convert supplier statements from pdf to excel, she has spoken with them to ask them not to do this but they do not listen at all. So I have tried various online convertors then I thought they need something permanent, although I make money everytime they call up to get the conversions done if they had their own software it would save them time and in the end money. So I downloaded the trial to my PC and she has usual sent me the PDF that needed converting, it was so simple to use and did just what I needed, ok in the trial a bit of a pain when I wanted to convert 11 pages but the trial only allows 10, so I had to send her two spreadsheets one of 10 pages and another of just one.
She is now going to speak with the manager of her company about purchasing a copy for her computer.

I’m a financial analyst in the public sector. I often get annual financial reports emailed in pdf, or on paper that have to be scanned. PDF2XL has save me countless hours getting my financial information from PDFs to spreadsheets. I used to do data entry for days before I could do analysis. Now I can go straight to looking at trends and changes! And I can get to the real data work (not just boring entry) while I still fresh and rearing to go! I recently upgraded to PDF2XL Enterprise and its well worth the price. It pays for itself in less than a work week. Thank you for an excellent product!

In a word simply fantastic. I have tried other software downloaded on the Internet. Some were heavy (300Mb)and complicated while others too much expensive. I download price list from our partners and I can immediately work on raw data.
Doesn’t require to much IT resources and it’s very intuitive. Even if you are not a computer geek just watch the 2 minutes video (by the way great idea) and you will be ready to import your documents into excel within few seconds. It really does what it says on the tin !

I am associated with Accenture as a financial analyst and have to use excel in a large way. I usually get financial reports mailed to me in pdf, or the other formats. Those have to be scanned to work upon. PDF2XL has saved me n number of hours by getting my vital financial information converted from PDFs to spreadsheets. Earlier, I had to do data entry for many hours before I could do analysis. But now, with PDF2XL in action, I can start analysing in minutes…

Hold on… It is of great utility but it is not an unmixed blessing. If the quality of PDF is not good, then the data it converts may have a lot of errors. The users should not blindly count on the converted data if the PDF quality is not great. You just have to be careful in this case.

    Rest is best.

I am often send scanned pdf of bills I have to convert to excel for analysis. What I like here is the fact that before converting the program lets me correct the automatically found colums which I can split or merge thereby already significantly improving the end result.

Although the result (from scanned pdf which is hardest to convert) was not perfect the amount of editing needed was minimal before I had a usable result.

I have looked at various ways to convert PDF files to Excel including scanning, optical character recognition, and the latest version of Adobe Acrobat X.

Nothing works as well as Cogniview’s PDF2XL. The PDF files I have been attempting to convert include financial analysis and reports with complex layouts that make their conversion to Excel very challenging.

I of all people know the importance of backing up my files, but I had gotten lazy and had not done it in a much longer time than I had realized. We are a small company so we don’t have a lot a redundancy that would get us out of a bind when the computer that contained the majority of the financial information from our company was lost to a catastrophic hard drive failure, just at tax time. We had access to PDF reports if I could only figure out a way to get all that information from the reports back into usable data. PDF2XL saved the day. It was easy to use, even for someone as frazzled as I was at that moment, and made the job of reinventing the lost information almost uneventful. We now have off-site back-up and PDF2XL, and I once again sleep at night, worry free. Thank you PDF2XL for providing an inexpensive and easy to use software. It saved the day!

This software is amazing. I tried many software packages that claim to convert from pdf to xls. None of them did the job on the fairly complex scanned pages I have, containing lots of tables with varying layout. Cogniview’s software flawlessly does the job and is even easy to use.

Customer support is also very good. When working on a complex layout, I asked for assistance by e-mail and quickly received a working layout and description how they did the job. Thanks a lot.

I have just one request for future versions (or maybe the option exists, but I was not able to find it). When working on scanned pages with the same layout on each page, margins are often different on each page. This is due to inaccuracies in the scanning process. It would be great if the software could automatically detect this and compensate for it, so that I don’t have to manually move the layout a bit.

Thanks again. Please continue the good work.

    Hello,

I am trying to OCR many pages (hundreds) of tank filling tables with the same sayout. I have the same problem as Gino Smeulders. The layout is the same but the columns may not be at exactly the same place on the paper`so the conversion will fail.
Can i do something to eliminate the problem ?

    Best regards

When my boss wanted me to type the info on 65 PDF-pages into Excel I thought about quitting my job.

The task seemed so devastating. Luckily, after having tried five or six other converters that all failed, I found PDF2XL.

I decided to purchase (without my boss knowing it, he still thinks I typed this on nights and weekends) the program after the trial period.

Saved me heaps of time (and got me plenty of goodwill from my boss)

    Thx!
    Kind Regards,

I’m with the Portfolio Analytics team at Admiral and our work often involves the complex data management tasks.
I signed up for the Cogniview but by the time I receive the email and activation link, I had time to try almost half a dozen of PDF-Excel converter available online for a trial and none worked the way how I needed it.
As a last resort, I started to use the Cogniview link and by the way much impressed with the approach they have taken for the conversion. It is pretty neat and have recommended our IT to purchase a license rightaway.
It’s very user friendly, and obviously saved a lots of time easily the best pdf-excel converter I’ve came across.

    Thanks,
    Lenin.

PDF2XL provides the much needed bridge between my customers and clients easiest method of sending information (PDF and Fax) and my easiest method of processing information which is Excel. I am able to upload Excel files into the in-house software with just a few clicks in lieu of hours of data entry. Converting PDF’s to Excel saves time, money, and wrist fatigue. (Bet you never thought of PDF2XL as a health benefit.)

    Hi,
As a part of my job,I am recently working on financial statements of different companies. My task includes extracting the relevant figures from the financial statements in PDF format and typing the same into Microsoft Excel. That’s why I was looking for a software that could help me extract only relevant data from a PDF file into Excel format. Since manually doing this can take around 8-10 hours for a single company’s financial statements I tried using a few software but the results were not satisfactory.

Browsing on CNET, I came across PDF2XL and downloaded it to try.I have just started using PDF2XL and I am testing it if it can assist me in getting my job done in an efficient way. Since extracting relevant data from PDF format files into Excel format is a regular task at my organisation, if this software works well for me I will definitely refer this to my organisation.

It is a too early to write my story but I don’t want to miss a chance to win a gift so I am writing it.

    Regards
    Ali

    - Great results
    - Ability to customize columns is essential
    - Able to convert a scanned pdf that was originally in hard copy format

As an auditor, companies provide us with paper documentation in an attempt to hinder our ability to efficiently and effectively review their data. This software is excellent in alleviating this problem by converting the info into a workable soft copy format like Excel.
    Thanks.

I can sum it up in one word. Amazing! We have several excel spreadsheets that were scanned into pdf documents for our archive files. The spreadsheets contained dates and notes in columns. Yesterday I was asked to update the original excel spreadsheet with dates and notes over the last year however I couldnt locate the spreadsheet. Uh oh I thought. I would now need to retype the entire pdf document. Before doing so I came up with the idea to find software which could convert the data back into excel. Low and behold using a search engine brought me to PDF2XL.

Wow! What would have taken me several hours to retype into an excel spreadsheet took literally 2 minutes to convert. The dates are in Colunm A and the notes are in Column B just as the original spreadsheet I had created. I put a request into our IT Department to purchase this product today!! I am certain I could find another use for it in the future.

Finding utilities that meet certain requirements can be difficult. This software is outstanding. I needed to covert a PDF document that was originally a Word document written in columns to a spreadsheet. This program did it flawlessly–granted, some tweeking is needed for the final result, but that is a fault of the original document and not the conversion process. The support staff has been extremely helpful and I highly recommend this product to anyone that is faced with the task of converting documents our of necessity or for ease and additional productivity.

Simply stated, it is an excellent product.

PDF to Excel has a simple interface which does not require any learning curve and perfectly suitable for immediate use and output. It converts beautifully with a lot of flexibility to create and modify tables. This application is the leader and excels at what it does.

I spent a significant sum of money in expensive programs such as Adobe PRO X, Nuance Omnipage PRO, I.R.I.S. Applications and a bunch of others. It took hours to edit the results into a usable Excel file.
Cogniview’s program is easy to use and saves me hours of work. Most importantly, however, is the swift and complete support that I got from Cogniview’s Hadar any and every time I asked for help. I only wish I’d learned about Cogniview’s programs years ago.

Just started using the program. It seems to work fine. Purchased the Enterprise version with the CD backup. I told Brooke that I would be buying another computer in 2 months. I did. Had a heck of a time getting it loaded on the new machine. CD appears to be of no real value although it costs extra. People on the phone are all very pleasant although it is impossible to talk to technical support. Technical support was prompt but it does not appear that customer problems are not “tracked or noted” as I had to send about a dozen emails to get the program activated.

My credit card provider only provides online statements in pdf form. I wanted to use Excel to record all credit card transactions but could not find a converter that would do the job. I tried the one from Nitro and the one from CNET. They both produced jibberish. Cogniview’s program worked perfectly the first time I tried it. I understand now that my pdf file was a scanned document and most converters can’t read the scanned data. I bought the Enterprise version so I can work with screens as well as files. This program is well worth the money!

Converting scanned billing information into excel spreadsheets is essential to establish my customers’ benchmark spend. I can then set about finding cheaper suppliers for them.

PDF2XL was recommended by a colleague. The application did most of what I expected. It recognised that I was working on scanned material and installed the OCR extension automatically.

I spent a little too long adjusting the columns and top/bottom rows to be 100% happy, but the app did a good job without too many errors. I’d give it 8.5/10

Strong Technical sells to and services motion picture theater equipment. On a daily basis, we take 50 to 100 orders for projector light bulbs alone from one theater chain. All the orders arrive in PDF format. Processing these orders takes a full time person anywhere from 6 to 8 hours a day.

I evaluated almost all of the PDF conversion tools on the market. I stopped evaluating once I got to PDF2XL. This tool is exactly what I need to break out the data in a consistent manner from the PDF purchase orders into a format I can feed into my accounting system and automate this particular purchase order process.

Once I have this finished, I will regain 6 to 8 hours a day back from a manual process. Payback on this product is going to be about 30 minutes. Not days, minutes.

An excellent product and a lifesaver for the poor soul who had to enter these purchase orders manually!

    Thanks Cogniview!!!

    Hello,

Tried the product for the first time.

It really is a neat product, however, I do have a few suggestions.

When the file is converted, it would be nice if you have the option to retain the original layout of the pdf file. It helps users like me to search out and extract the data that I am looking for visually. This helps especially when it is a voluminous file, to be able to relate the visual positioning of the file and then get working on the file that is laid out in rows. I do not know but this is how some people work, convert visually first then tabular data for extraction.

    Thanks

I was faced with re-typing, in a spreadsheet, a 49-page requirements document published as a PDF in order to track comments and status for each item. I searched, downloaded and tried several software packages that promise PDF to Exel conversion but none of them worked properly; some misinterpreted and even skipped entire pages or rows of data while others simply pasted an image of the table in an Excel spreadsheet. And then I tried PDF2XL. The main advantage of Cogniview’s PDF2XL over its competitors is the level of optional pre-conversion tuning that can take place. This allows the user to help the software correctly identify the columns and tables as well as how rows are defined. PDF2XL can guide the user through this process and will even show a real-time preview of the converted data right within the workspace. In about 20 minutes I was able to install PDF2XL, open the PDF I needed to convert, step through the guide, fine-tune the conversion settings and produce a spreadhseet to share with the team. I then spent a fair bit of time reviewing the document for accuracy and did not find one issue. I am very pleased with the ease of use, accuracy and reliability of PDF2XL and look forward to the next time I am faced with ‘re-typing’ a large table embedded in PDF document!

Our company analyses hundreds of pages of telephone billing in order to produce a single proposal.

You have allowed us to take a process that was time consuming and agonizing and made it a pleasure to work with.

We have tried other solutions in the past, but nothing converted the data to Excel with the accuracy you do.

We can now spend our time analyzing the figures instead of working through the night checking them for errors before we even start our proposals.

I am a Unit Training Manager in the USAF. The online training record system does not automatically load all required training tasks. Instead, we have to verify that all mandatory training items are covered in an office’s training program by manually comparing each job field’s source document (PDF) to a downloaded report from (XLS). That’s at least 20 pages each for 8 career fields – the folks who publish the source document can’t be bothered to format the table so as to allow a cut-and-paste into Excel.

Right now I’m making a trial run for my own use (reformatting promotion study materials), but if this program works as well as I think, I hold out some small hope that I can convince my unit to authorize and buy a copy for long-term use.

Every day I have to manually type lists to excel that I have in PDF form which would take hours. I haven’t found a product that can do this automatically.

My only suggestion is for the program to allow a different table selection on each page. The pages in the PDF are generally not uniform and so each page differs in placement (left and right) which makes it hard to export into excel easily.

If you are still working on upgrades I would definitely suggest looking into that functionality.

  481. Matt P on August 16th, 2011 7:37 pm

Awesome. Works great. Just what I was looking for. I looked for couple hours. Thank goodness I found this or I’d still be looking. Really gonna try and get work to purchase this.

I am an office manager/realtor of a real estate sales company. We frequently like to send flyers and/or announcements to all of the agents who subscribe to the multiple listing service. This is a marketing tool we use to help get our new listings or open houses in front of as many realtors as possible.
We recently became members of a new Board, and the membership roster was 9 pages of VERY TINY print in a .pdf document. I had started inputing the data into Excel manually, but this process was so tedious! I had heard of .pdf to Excel conversion programs, but was intimidated and afraid it would take me as long to learn how to use the program as it would to enter the data manually! To my surprise, we downloaded this program and were able to have the entire 9 pages of names, email addresses, phone numbers, fax numbers and offices converted to an excel spreadsheet with correct column formatting. This program is amazing! It took about 15 minutes to watch the tutorials and apply the information. I’m sure we’ll be purchasing the product!!

After a very frustrating afternoon of trying to convert a very large pdf file I seriously needed….I finally got it done with the help of this product!! Thank you so much for making this available to try. Didn’t take me long to figure out how to do it all and it worked perfectly. I tried 5 other programs today…all a complete fail. I will be buying this program!

My task was to straighten out the messed up Accounts Receivable for an oil and gas operator. If you don’t know anything about O&G accounting, let me just say that any one well has a multitude of costs spread across multiple owners, the math of which always goes to at least eight decimal places, and any owner may have interests in up to 40 of the operator’s ~200 wells. (The resulting math on the possible combinations was overwhelming!) There was historical paper and PDF files whose data I desperately needed in Excel in order to analyze. I used PDF2XL on month after month for almost 60 months and was able to accomplish the task. It took over a year with PDF2XL and I’d hate to think how long it would have taken without it! Love the product and have used it on many things since!

I have been tasked with capturing spare parts listings from manuals and entering them into a database. About 45 pages of spares in all. Capturing them to Excel is just perfect as we can load the database straight from the Excel sheet.

What is not so perfect is where the data is in scanned PDF files and whilst PDF2XL has a good go, it needs much more manual intervention because the line spacing is not consistent with scanned files.

It would be useful if you could easily build your own row column matrix within a table border, using point and click.

  488. Jessie on August 24th, 2011 6:30 pm

This software is so easy to use. I was able to convert a 10 page bill in seconds from a pieces of paper to something I can actually use.

I have Able2Extract at work and needed an extractor at home too. . .I think they are the top competetor to PDF2XL and I like this one A LOT better. The preview makes a huge difference and the output is formatted in a very simple and basic way – ready to use!

The PDF converter is truly a time saver, everyone who deals with extensive amount of data and who later needs to be exported into an excel spreadsheet could save precious time that is needed in the Financial World in which time is critical. This translates into having more time for analysis of the data or focus on other important activities that couldn’t be done because of time limitations.

This is an amazing program! I lost my photo database with several hundred detailed descriptions of my antique Civil War Uniform Buttons. By dumb luck I printed the list from my excel spread sheets with some of the information.
I have been able to recover most of the information in a few easy steps. This saved me over 2 years of data collection.
    Great Program!

I’ve worked with Acrobat documents using the professional Acrobat X currently. PDF2XL is an essential tool. The native “Save As” spreadsheet option in Acrobat consistently jumbles up even the simplest .pdf data sheet. PDF2XL takes a few mouse clicks and bingo! I have neat, perfectly formatted columns WITH headings in the correct places. BEST add on to Acrobat at any price.

  496. Ken Blakie on September 6th, 2011 3:30 am

PDF2XL allowed us to convert a 104 page motor vehicle parts invoice into a csv file to upload into our software saving hours of keying time. A couple more tests on other documents and I was totally hooked. This is a wonderful product which will save our company many hours of unproductive keying time in the future.

My administrative assistant is out on vacation and I need to perform some data entry tasks. Hence I needed a quick and easy software to convert PDF docs to Excel. PDF2XL worked just fine. Easy to download and install. Worked great on the first try – tutorial was easy too!
Con: It converted the tables well but grouped similarly formated tables/data lines – with same titles – into the same page. I would have prefered to have the conversion done page by page, that way I can better very data integrity.

  498. Cristina Tapia on September 7th, 2011 2:15 am

Hi! I’m very happy since i found PDF2XL!! I’m working very hard on my thesis so… you can imagine the time that i’ve spent with data… this amazing tool have me let use the information faster than if i were doing number by number… it’s easy to use, very “friendly”, i can’t find any disadvantage… well.. just one but in the free trial… it says: seven days.. but in just one day was over.. maybe because of the number of documents..i think i would be better if you specify the number of documents instead of the number of days… thank you anyway!

  499. Sherman on September 9th, 2011 6:37 pm

Downloaded the trial and it installed smoothly. Made a few trial conversions, with varying amounts of success. The problem turned out to be the number of conversion choices available! I was pleasantly surprised with the detail available in the “help”. After using the help to make the right conversion choices for what I need I was able to make very good excel sheets.
One thing that was really nice — one of my PDF’s was a scanned PDF. When the program detected the scanned PDF to automatically loaded the OCR module (not part of the trial I downloaded), and I was again able to make a good excel sheet. NICE.
All-in-all, a good program, does as advertised.

Perhaps the best thing I can say by far about PDF2XL OCR is the ability to create custom layout and more than that is to save and preserve it so that the repeatitive tasks are…… what can I say I have no words it has made life so much easier and it is not just some another OCR where you have to check everytime I have found ABSOLUTELY ZERO mistakes in Optical Character Recognition Now for the the real thing. You have features to create Table layouts and Fields Layout, Now why not add some .dbf format export Huh!? Give it a thought it will really make this product unique in the market

I tested your product against 5 other ones. They ranged in cost from free to $130.00 for basic feature. The only one that came close to yours was the $130.00 one but still fell short in capability to yours. I am a solutions provider for small businesses 1 to 20 employees. Most of my clients get dozens to hundreds of PDF documents that need to be converted to excel format. I believe your product line is the best choice at a very reasonable price.

I would like one feature added that two of you competors have is the ability to remove a column line in addition to the split feature. It was an easy fix when the doc was converted to excel to just delete the column but if you can do it before the conversion why not.

  511. guy on September 27th, 2011 10:32 am

Alan, thank you for your comment.

I’d like to point you to the ‘Merge’ command in the Selection menu, which allows you to delete the column line just like you wanted: select the columns you wish to merge and use the command.

More on this command can be found here:

But recently I got a chance to work at home by getting a contract from one big company which unfortunately had some problems with database corruption. Fortunately they had hard copies of the old data I use windows 7 and PDF2XLOCR by using voice commands and converting the data, so far smooth sailing BEST THING TO HAPPEN TO AN OLD MAN

Thanks a lot for this great piece of software!
In the last few days a tried a dozen of software because I have three huge pdf files with one large table each to convert.
What no other software was able to do is to (semi-)automatically understand the table format, which changes from page to page and that has a varying line height and column width.
With PDF2XL in single-layout I defined the table size for each page; then, by selecting all rows of the first page I selected the Table Layouts –> Rows from Lines: this resulted in an perfect reconstruction of the table text. Finally, by activating the “Multiple Layouts”, I fine tuned every page table sizes.
The export to Open document and Excel spreadsheet was only one click.

100s of hours cut to a few minutes: great!

Fabulous! I received a file of multiple pages of a scanned table in pdf. I needed to be able to extract the data into a table for analysis, but wasn’t sure anything was going to work. I downloaded the trial and gave it a try – AWESOME! It as very easy to use (the directions step by step on the left pane were critical). I LOVE the fact that I was able to select the option to convert multiple pages at once. At first I thought I would have to convert each page one by one, but nope! SAVED ME SOOOOO MUCH TIME! I love this and will look into buying the full version!

In preparation for a show where I am going to exhibit, I received a list of names that had attended the show last year from a partner company. It was 28 pages and a PDF. My plan was to e-mail each person inviting them to visit our booth. Manually this was going to take a long time, so I started looking for help.

I reviwed several products on the web and downloaded two for evaluation. I found serious limitations with the first one. From what I read and my initial review, PDF2XL looked good. I began the process and got stumped. I sent an e-mail to support. Within a few hours I had a reply with detailed instructions and a sample using my data. The next day I got a followup call asking if I needed more help. I said “no” but got stuck again. I e-mailed again and got a call within an hour. The support person was very patient and knowledgeable and walked me through the process to a successful conclusion. Good product with great support.

As a bill of materials specialist Excel spreadsheets are very crucial to my job since they are primarily what our software will import/export. It is fairly common for us to receive a bill of materials from a customer in PDF form which instantly slows me down since I end up going through line by line and copying into Excel. I have tried numerous demos of other Excel converters and PDF2Excel has proven to be the easiest and most efficient. Some that I have tried will not even convert over in any type of manageable order, PDF2Excel worked perfectly on my very first try. If given the approval from my boss our company will potentially be purchasing PDF2Excel. Great product.

I am a systems analyst who was tasked by my employer with testing and evaluating all major PDF to Excel conversion products. I tested twenty-three products according to these criteria:

    1. All products tested needed to at least convert PDF documents to editable Excel spreadsheets.
    2. Applications were tested for ease of use.
    3. Applications were tested for the accuracy with which they converted the input .PDF document to an Excel format.
    4. Additional application functionality was recorded.
    5. Additional information–such as product pricing, product security features, and quality of customer service/support–was recorded and factored into the product evaluation.

I spent two weeks testing and rank-ordering the twenty-three PDF conversion products. Next, I wrote a report of my results, and sent it to my employer’s Administrative Support department. They then tested the products to which my report assigned an “A” ranking.

Cogniview’s PDF-to-Excel suite of products was the clear winner of this painstaking process. My company’s human resources and information services departments purchased several PDF2XL licenses. Our Administrative Support department also purchased PDF2XL OCR licenses, as they needed the additional functionality that tool provides for converting scanned PDF files.

We have been delighted with our investment. No other line of PDF conversion products matches Cogniview’s for price, ease-of-use, conversion accuracy, and customer service/support.

I have only had this trial version for less than 20 minutes and I am so happy to share. I was able to complete a conversion in moments whereas previously, I was had already spent 2 days retyping, correcting, parsing, and searching the Internet for help–which of course never worked for the problems I was having.

Then I saw this product in the sidebar on a website and thought I’d check it out. After watching the video – I knew I had a winner!

Not to mention, it was great fun, too!

I started trying other conversion tools and was not happy. We have to take several hundred pages of a pdf and convert it to excel. Some programs only copied an image onto the excel – not actually in the cells! This program did an amazing job on the selected 6 pages I tried. I am sold on this one.

Prior to using pdf to excel I created conversion functions in excel with text formulas. Until I found pdf to excel, other products made too many errors and were not much less work than what I had been doing. I already had solutions to converting XML and delimited files to database format. This product will fill the gap for converting pdf format only reports and save hundreds of hours for several other associates that now can be applied to smarter work. Thanks for helping me make a noticeable impact at my company.

I was just hired to a new job with the task of placing hundreds of vendor price sheets into Excel, so they could be imported into new sales & inventory software. A vast majority of these price sheets are supplied in PDF format, and until now, the only option for importing them was either an excruciating process of copy/pasting, or simply re-typing. Everything. Then I was introduced to PDF2XL. To call it a lifesaver would be an understatement – thank you for saving my sanity!

  537. Caryn Morgan on October 27th, 2011 6:07 pm

Amazing – I had data that was useless in PDF format because I needed to manipulate it and copying & pasting lost all columns. PDF2XL was fast, easy, intuitive and got my data in a usable format. I was able to convert many pages at a time of only what I needed (able to exclude routing headers, etc.)

I was preparing my End-of-Year accounts (31 October here!), when I found that I needed to use my bank statements. Unfortunately, these are all in PDF format. Copy-paste didn’t work- the column details were lost. A Google search turned up a couple of solutions, one of which was PDF2XL.

When I installed it on a PC I was greatly impressed- the conversion was flawless. The only drawback for me was that there’s no Mac version- I’ve installed it on a PC in work, but will have to uninstall as soon as I’m finished.

If there was a Mac version, I’d buy it instantly

As a financial analyst, I have used this program to convert financial data in tables in PDF documents to excel for easier analysis. It has saved me a lot of time in typing out numbers and has generally produced good results. There are several small features such as the ability to move columns that make it easy to understand and use. I would recommend it to any of my friends/co-workers.

I invest in Real Estate Tax Liens. Tax Liens are sold through auctions by counties. Every county has a different system. The list of Liens for sale can be a few hundred to over 30,000 liens in one auction.

The liens are on properties where the owner has not paid their annual taxes. So the county waits until the last minute to publish the liens that will be for sale. Most are published only a few weeks before the auction. You don’t have much time to sort through the list to determine which ones to bid on.

The most popular way a list of liens are published is by PDF files. To do analysis on a list of 30,000 liens using a PDF file is an impossible task.

A couple of years ago I did a search on “convert PDF to spreadsheet software” and Cogniview’s PDF2XL product was on the first page (good SEO Cognivew!).

I downloaded the trial version and ran it for a county list of 2,500 liens. It worked like a charm and was intuitive to use.

I had a spreadsheet in minutes and I was able to filter and maipulate my data so I could create a bidding strategy that allowed me to win several liens in that auction.

I saved about 20 hours of work with PDF2XL for that one county alone. I recently bought PDF2XLOCR because many counties publish a scanned list as a PDF.

I have developed my spreadsheet methods so much that I have recently written a book about using spreadsheets for viewing past online tax lien auction history to create a Bid Strategy for the current tax lien auction.

I am recommending Cogniveiw’s PDF2XL in that book and soon on my website. Today I’m creating a video showing how easy the software works for investors to use on PDF tax lien lists.

    Great product Cogniview!

I had to convert a pdf to excel for my full-time job. I have one website that I frequently use because it is quick, easy and free. You get what you pay for, and this file I had was not able to be converted. I downloaded the trial of Cogniview, not expecting much.

It converted the three pages in seconds with only a little cleanup. There were a few things it put question marks onm but it was simple to compare it to the pdf, and change what needed to be changed.

I’m evaluating a product for me to use in my job every day, and after using Cogniview, I’m suitably impressed, and will put it at the top of the list of products I’m evaluating for purchase.

Thank you for a great product, and saving me hours of manual work.

Good product – it has saved me hours of time. The OCR is the most accurate that I have found.

PDF2XL is quick and easy to use.

It is well worth the price! I recommend PDF2XL to anyone who needs to convert PDF files to Excel or Word.

PDF2XL is truly one of the most innovative programs I’ve ever purchased. I work in the insurance industry and work with over 40 sales agencies in five states. We process approximately $400k in new business premium per month and process about $100k in payroll commissions. The challenge we’ve had is each company who we sell through sends commission statements in different formats. Some are PDF, and others are hard copy that are actually mailed to us which we have to scan. Up until PDF2XL, we’ve had to manually type data into EXCEL. Not anymore!!! This literally has saved us 15-20 hours in processing. The money and time we have been able to save has allowed us to hire more staff. Great program. I can’t thank you enough…especially since it is soooo easy to use! I did’t even have to read the instructions. My kind of software! (: Plug and play! Serious…sounds too good to be true…it’s not! Buy it NOW! Get your life back! Allocate your time to things that make you money. We love it! Thank you!!!

After trying numerous PDF conversion apps, PDF2XL is by far the best application out there.

I was spending hours converting PDF files to Excel formats. Either the initial conversion never transferred over all of the information, or the formatting transferred over incorrectly. It was very frustrating, and time consuming cleaning up the unfinished file.

I am not “techie” by any means, and was looking for a program that was easy to use and intuitive. Most of the applications I found required the user to to have a post-doctorate degree in computer science in order to understand the functions that worked the application.

Thanks for creating a PDF Conversion application that is ready to use when installed. You saved me and my company many man-hours with this application.

    Keep up the good work.

I have tried multiple coversion tools for scanned PDF douments to be converted into Excel format. I first tried PDF2XL then moved onto the next program Google suggested to try. I did not have as much luck with two of the other programs out there and decided to go back to the PDF2XL program and purchase it. I am working on a large project at a University in the state of Connecticut where I have to file daily reports regarding this project. Some of the data I have for this project was compiled by another company, which was handy to have, but typing into Excel all 1000 points of this file became WAY too tedious. No one in my office had a program that converted SCANNED PDF documents into excel, only a program that converted PDF documents originally created by PDF. That was when my search began. I have been using this program, PDF2XL for about a month now and I have found it helps emmensly! I still have to do editing of the conversions since some of the scans I am working with are not the best and I think the conversion “engine” struggles with the data. But even with having to make the corrections, there is still a lot of time that I have saved using this product. I would reccomend it to someone else that is trying to do the same type of work, it is super handy!

A wonderful tool! Every other conversion program I have tried refused to correctly match the columns as needed. But PDF2XL actually let me change the columns as needed – merging in some areas and splitting others.

In my job I combined data from a variety of programs for management to review – some are legacy programs that cannot provide data in any format other than print. PDF2XL saves the time of trying to retype the – so I can take the raw numbers and link them into the proper tables. Thank you for this great tool!

Yesterday, a 163 page cost invoice was foisted upon me covering a considerable sum. I had no easy way to analyze it until I found your product PDF2XL OCR. Once I got the hang of it, the conversions were generally very good. Now I’m ready to slice and dice that cost data using Excel… fabulous.

The only substantive improvement I would like to suggest is the addition of an “autotrack” feature that will allow PDF2XL’s import table to dynamically resize itself in response to horizontal or vertical skewing or “jitter” (change in alignment) of tabular data between successive pages. This is quite common in documents that are second or third generation faxes/copies.

I am impressed with your PDF converter product.

I have tried many products and yours is the only product to correctly convert page 3 of my project.

I have used Nuance PDF Pro 7, Primo PDF Scansoft Omin Page Pro and Able2Extract and have wasted cxonsiderable valuable time trying to get a quality conversion with minimal correction required. Your converter has allowed this to be done with a minimum of work required to polish up the Excel Spreadsheet.

It appears to do what is says it will do.

    Thanks

  562. Brandi on December 3rd, 2011 2:12 am

I tried to convert using Adobe and Nuance, but neither worked well. I downloaded your software and it is working much better, but there are still a lot of unrecognized characters showing up when I convert to excel. This is an older document, but all in all I’m impressed with how much it did pick up and translate appropriately. Definitely will be spending more time with the trial to see if it’s something I can better understand and we could use.

    Thank you.

With a 240 page scanned pdf that has 82 names and addresses per page I needed something to create an editable file that could be used to make a database to use for mailing without having to key the whole mess. PDF2XL proofed to be the best answer to a huge problem. This program convert the pdf not just to xls but to the open source (read free) software Open Office. The only problem I had was that some spaces between words could not be recognized by the software. But otherwise the program saved at least 60-80 hours of computer time. Awesome.

We scanned it into PDF and I ran it through a PDF to excel program that I had purchased a while back and I ran into a bunch of problems. I figured I would see if there was anything else out there and I came across Cogniview PDF2XL OCR. It worked perfectly with very little editing! I am putting in a request for PO right now. Thanks for making a product that does the job right.

I downloaded my PDF2XL OCR software today – What can I say but “WOW” !

I wondered about the claims you made for your product.

Well, it is all true – easy to use (almost disappointingly easy!), and the results are out of this world! Best of all I have increased my productivity almost ten-fold.

I read a comment on your website to the effect that “is the best tool for you to convert scanned PDFs to Excel.” with great skepticism but I will admit that this product and your customer service team lives up to the promise.

    Congratulations on producing a product!

    Hello,

I tried this programme on one page which is scanned from a print out. This application scanned the image with OCR wonderfully and I have one suggestion if not already built in. This app shoucd have auto correct optin like in windows Word/Excel where is if certain text which is used multiple and it reads incorrectly. e.g. QTG is always read as OTG, the auto correct will always change it to QTG.
This will really make the application user friendly.

2011 was wasted in the mechanical drudgery of converting mid-sized PDFs to Excel via copy/paste. From now on, I will have time free to do my real work & let PDF2Xcel handle the drudgery. Kudos on the online documentation. I was able to do what I wanted to within minutes of starting the trial.

  578. Dave on December 21st, 2011 3:57 am

PDF2XL could not be any simpler to use. After watching the tutorial, following the step by step instructions, and using the program on a couple of pdf documents it has become a breeze to fly through pdf document conversions. Simplicity, speed, and accuracy are three of the best words I can use to describe this program.

I am currently working on a project which requires me to take data (most of which is in PDF format) from almost all of the cities within the United States and then convert this data into Excel spreadsheets, so that I can quickly convert this data into a database. This program has literally saved me several hours per day to accomplish these tasks. Several hours per day works out to be a lot of hours saved over the course of a year. Time is money and if your time is as valuable as mine, this program will help you to free up a great deal of time so that you can focus more on making money. I would highly recommend anyone in search of a pdf to excel converter program to give this a try, and I am quite confident you will not be disappointed.

Ps: The preview and table adjustment features of the program are incredibly useful and really take this program to the next level.

I have a lot of programs for which I do financial analysis. For some reason the accounting and/or IT departments change the data output streams’ format without regard for users. Recently they changed several reports to output only to PDF. I have several program master financial files which rely on the data output as received by the former Excel output. So with the change to PDF (were they thinking of making the data less accessible?),I was laboriously spending time ALT + select column of data, then pasting in Excel. After a couple of pages I said, “Phooey.” I can’t be the only person who has this problem. Sure enough there are several utilities which boasted help. I chose PDF2XL and love the way it works, the speed and the Excel output. Yay! Thank you very much. — Lynn Heckman

I used the trail version of PDF2XL OCR to convert a 127 page scanned version of a payment transaction report from our insurance carrier.

The report lists about 30 rows of data on each page and captures paid month, type and amount. All in all I figured that would be over 11,000 individual data elements I would need to enter to get the report into a useful format (assuming no mistakes were made.

PDF2XL OCR converted the data in about a minute, and the review feature showed me the figures that the OCR engine was not sure were correct.

The learning curve for using the software was short and easy, the software is very intuitive.

The OCR engine consistently misinterpreted the type code of “0A” as “DA” so I would’ve like a feature that could establish a rule such as if “DA” found in position 35 convert to “0A” instead. However since the OCR engine consistently converted this to “DA” and that was not a valid type code it was easy to change it back to “0A” in Excel.

I showed my manager the source report and PDF2XL OCR’s results and she approved the purchase on the spot, saving me a bunch of data entry hours.

I see this as a valuable tool and will make the purchase to a full version.

the fastest and best ocr i’ve ever used, simple with less hassle, easy to understand even for my numskull boss and get the job done. that’s the main important thing- getting the job done without so many of the never-used function.

thank you, would definitely buy the application if my request to the purchasing department is approved as i am not rich enough to fork my own money for company use.

I need to load spreadsheets that I receive into another piece of software that my company uses. If vendors don’t send it as an excel spreadsheet then I have to key every entry in (super time consuming and boring). PDF2XL is an ideal solution for converting the data. It’s quick and easy to use and has almost eliminated manual data entry.

    Very slick!

I work on the Finance Committee for our homeowners association. We recently changed property management companies and our outgoing provider was a bit remiss in providing historical information.

I had been receiving monthly financial reports as “pdf” files, but really needed the data in a spreadsheet to properly analyze.

The download of PDF2XL was extremely fast and the conversion was virtually instantaneous. It was very easy to use, even on the first try without viewing any help or demo’s.

I can’t wait to explore the features further.

Have tried a number of pdf to excel viewers over time and this is the only viewer that has converted Excel Files easily, in the format desired while also maintaining number values.

This is the best software by far. I work for a marketing company and having to input 100′s of UPC codes into excel manually is a daunting and frustrating task. However, with PDF2XL Enterprise, litterally just minutes, converts all my UPC codes into excel with little effort.

    !!!!I LOVE THIS SOFTWARE!!!!

The PDF2XL is wonderful. I have used several programs trying to convert PDF files to Excel. Each was an improvement but I was so happy when I found the PDF2XL. It really does a great job. I like being able to compare the data to your original PDF file cell by cell. Much easier than taking a print-out and comparing the difference to the file.

    Saves me so much time!!!!!

Wow! It is just what I needed..had many docs posted on websites in pdf formats and I needed to compile and interpert the information…I got the PDF into word and was copying the Word table into Excel, but what a process! I knew there had to be a better way, and you guys came up with it! Thanks so much!

Shucks. It didn’t work out as I hoped it would.

I get a year end summary of my credit card purchases, already separated into about a dozen categories as a .pdf file. The problem is that they are never categorized correctly, so putting them into an Excel file would make it a breeze to fix. PDF2XL chokes on the format, and it took me more than a half hour of cut and paste to convert a 21 page pdf file. Rats.

Once again this year I was dreading doing my taxes and manually inputting hundreds, if not thousands, of transactions.I was putting it off, worrying, not sleeping well, the whole gamut of stress related issues. Then I found PDF2XL. Amazing product – worked perfectly right away, very intuitive to use and a huge time saver. My taxes are done. Thank you.

I was given a 171 page PDF by my boss and asked to convert it into an excel file, I am not very “techy” and I am pretty much self taught. I asked one of our “nerds” if he had ever done anything like this and he just shook his head and said no way!! I found your website and watched the video and thought that if it worked as well as the video claims even I should be able to do this! THIS PRODUCT IS AWESOME! This was so easy and worked exactly as the video explained. The boss was happy and I looked pretty good for figuring it out so quickly! If I was tasked with something like this often I would absolutely buy the full version! Thank You

I tried a lot, I mean ALOT of different pdf converters. This program,PDF@XL, is the cleanest, easiest to use, while still having the most features and customization. This program makes all the difference and does exactly what I want. The Program to Have! Thanks!
