Announcing Cogniviews Excel-to-PDF-Converter (and a bribe)

I am very proud to announce that we have released the beta version of Cogniview’s Excel to PDF converter.

The ‘Excel to PDF Converter’ is the first out of several open source projects we will be releasing in the coming months and it is the only free Excel-to-PDF converter that supports hyper-links.

here is the official Excel to PDF Converter product page.

Plus… we need your help to make ‘Excel to PDF Converter’ better. That is why we are offering the following ‘bribe’:

We will be giving away 10 Amazon Gift-Cards, worth $15 each, to people that will download ‘Excel to PDF Converter’, play around with it and post their feedback as comments on this blog post.

The gift cards will be given to 10 most helpful commenters.

I know that you’ll find Cogniview’s Excel to PDF Converter useful and I hope our little bribe can convince you to get involved with this project.

    I like the GUI!

More fast and easy than Adobe Acrobat Pro!

    And the program is FREE…

Wow! That was really fast and really easy. This plug-in makes converting Excel documents into PDF fies a breeze. This will be great for sharing Excel files with people who don’t have Excel.

I like the fact that the cell alignment doesn’t alter during conversion. I’ve used a few converters before where the cells at the right corner used to appear in the next line. This one thing makes this tool a winner for me :)

Well, up until now I never knew such software exists. I would only use .doc to .pdf converter. This is one very useful tool and have yet to find a flaw.

    Keep up the good work!

Having Windows Vista Home & Excel 2000: After install I cannot run Excel 2000: Microsoft Visual C++ Library > Runtime Error > abnormal program termination

Sorry to rain on the parade
    Isn’t this reinventing the wheel
There are several programs which exist that do this very job
I have a program that mimics a printer and appears on my drop down as a printer allowing any software I use to print to a PDF file
I use it everyday for my invoicing and to send newsletters via email

@Goemon – You managed to try during a technical problem with the download server. Try again now.

@Mailcollection – Your program is probably PDFCreator, or a similar one. Those indeed can convert from Excel to PDF, but they do not preserve your hyperlinks, unless anchor text is the full link URL, and it is visible in whole in the cell – a very limiting restriction.

    Thanks!

The software is wonderful. I have just bought it because it can really change the way I work. I’ve tried all kind of programs, from Adobe to unknown brands, and none beats this. And the support team is very helpful and as fast as one can desire. EXCELLENT!

By the way, if you need to change the language to Spanish, maybe I can help you with that.

    Cheers!

Today I have downloaded & installed Excel to PDF converter.

In the installation process I got an error : “Printer Installation Error:1402”

    I am using xp & excel 2007.

I cleared “C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86” folder & retried it but failed.

My spool service is running. I have uninstall all current printers & reinstalled them & tried again with your program but still same error.

    Can you help me?

I’m afraid that with me though a pdf is created the links aren’t working excel 2003 an windows xp – I’m printing through the Excel to Pdf printer or am I missing something?
I can get the same file to work with Adobe but it has very limited formatting – no headers etc.
    Advice appreciated.

Impresive – but hyperlinks do not seem to work if print options is anything other than 100%.

    Is this correct or bug?
    cheers

Doesn’t work for me. I have a contents sheet that links to other pages in the workbook. These links are dead in the PDF generated by your add-in. I am running Windows 7 with MS Excel 2007. Also, the button on the addin page will only print the active sheet. I need to go through the print menu to select the entire workbook to print.
