Here are the rules, terms and conditions for the 2016 Cogniview PDF to Excel Scholarship. Contest runs November 1 through December 31, 2015. Prize is one $1,000 scholarship in U.S. dollars awarded to one winner. Judging will be conducted by the Cogniview staff and will be based on content, creativity, usefulness and overall presentation of the tutorial. How to Enter:
  1. Select a task traditionally completed by humans that can be automated using technology.
  2. Create a video tutorial that demonstrates how to automate the task. Text or audio used in the video must be in English. Submissions must run no more than 10 minutes long.
  3. Submit entries via our online entry form or by emailing scholarship@cogniview.com and including your full name, address, email address, college or university and your submission materials as a link to a listed or unlisted YouTube video.
  4. Students may submit up to three entries.
  5. Submissions must be received no later than 11:59 p.m. EST on December 31, 2015.
  6. A winner will be selected by the Cogniview team and contacted on or before January 10, 2015.
Terms and Conditions By submitting an entry for consideration, students agree to the terms outlined below. Entries become the property of Cogniview with full rights to license or use the entries in any way, including editing, publishing or selling any entry. Each contestant voluntarily relinquishes any and all rights to the entry whatsoever. We reserve the right to include the student’s first and last name in any published version of the entry. No purchase is necessary to be considered for the scholarship and entry is free. Contest is open to all students residing in the United States and Canada who will be enrolled full-time or part-time at a higher education institution during the Spring 2016 semester. Employees of Cogniview and their family members are no eligible to enter. By participating in the contest, Entrants agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless Cogniview and its partners, affiliates, agents, representatives and employees (collectively, “Releasees”) from and against any injuries, losses, damages, claims, actions, or liability of any kind resulting from or arising from participation in the contest or acceptance, possession, use, misuse or nonuse of any prize that may be awarded. Jurisdiction and venue and all disputes concerning the contest shall be solely within the Superior Court for the State of Georgia in Atlanta. Releases are not responsible for computer, technical, printing, typographical, postal, human or other errors relating to or in connection with this contest, including without limitation, errors which may occur in the administration of the contest, the announcement of the prize, the processing of entries or in any contest-related materials; or for transactions that are lost, stolen, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, or illegible; entries that fail to enter into the processing system, or are processed, reported, or transmitted late or incorrectly or are lost for any reason including computer, human or other error; or for electronic, computer, or telephonic malfunction or error, or process of any transaction therein. Cogniview, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify individuals or void entries, to modify or suspend the contest, or to terminate the contest or a portion of the contest, and to award no prizes or such prizes as it deems appropriate using all remaining eligible entries received as of the termination date. Should the contest be terminated or modified prior to the stated expiration date, participants will be notified via email. Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any website or undermine the legitimate operation of the contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Cogniview reserves the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. As a condition of entering the contest, entrant agrees that under no circumstances will entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages; all causes of action arising out of or connected with this contest or the prize awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred but in no event shall cover attorneys’ fees. Cogniview reserves the right to modify prizes and prize award procedures. In the event of a dispute as to the identity or eligibility of a winner based on an email address, the winning entry will be declared made by the “Authorized Account Holder” of the email address submitted at time of entry as long as the “Authorized Account Holder” meets the Eligibility Standards of the Contest. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, education institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. The Cogniview.com site is hosted by a commercial server. Cogniview will use the information collected from entrants solely for the purposes of conducting the contest, announcing winners, finalists and/or entries, which receive an honorable mention, and for communicating with the entrants about the contest. Cogniview will not sell or disclose personally identifiable information that you provide us to other parties by except 1) to recognize authors of stories published on Cogniview’s website and other social media outlets 2) to recognize winners, and 3) as may otherwise be required or allowed by law. Entrants’ names may be published on the Cogniview website and other social media outlets to recognize and credit the author of a published entry. We collect non-personally identifiable information about visitors’ use of our site. Cogniview uses this information to customize the website, improve the website and statistically monitor how many people are using our site and for what purpose. Unfortunately, there is no way to guarantee 100% security of data transmission over the Internet. Therefore, Cogniview cannot guarantee or warrant the security of any information transmitted to or from us via email.
