Multiple Page Layouts
PDF2XL supports two ways of assigning layouts to a document. One is to assume that all the pages have similar layouts, i.e., that the table and fields that the user marks are laid out the same way on each page. The other, is that each page is different.
PDF2XL even allows saving a page layout for use on another document that has the same layout, using the Save Layout and Open Layout commands from the Layout menu.
To set PDF2XL so it will use a differnet layout for each page of the document, use the Multiple Layouts command. If most of the documents the user opens in PDF2XL have different page layouts, set the Use multiple layouts by default option in the Conversion Settings Page in the Settings dialog.
When PDF2XL has been set to Multiple Page Layouts for a document, editing a layout on one page will not effect the layout of other pages. Additionally, the user can use the Copy Layout and Paste Layout commands to copy and paste a page layout from one page to another,
and can use the Copy Layout From Page command to copy a layout from one page to a range of pages, in case the document has a group of pages with similar layouts.
When saving a layout from a Multiple Layouts marked document, the user will be prompted to save the whole document's layout (including all the different pages), or just the current page's layout.
When loading a layout while in Multiple Page Layouts mode, if the saved layout is of a single page, only the current page's layout will be changed. Otherwise, the user will be prompted to make sure all the page layouts should be replaced.
When loading a multiple-page saved layout into a Single Layout document, the user will be prompted to change to multiple layouts mode; if not accepted, the layout file will not be loaded.
When converting a range of pages with different layouts using the Convert into multiple sheets option, tables that have the same name will be combined - just as happens when using a single layout to convert from a range of pages.
