The Keyboard page of the Customize Dialog enables setting and changing keyboard shortcuts to the application commands. Each command can have one or more shortcuts.
In order to add a shortcut to a command, the user can select the command category in the Category combo box, select the command in the Commands list, set the focus in the Press New Shortcut Key box and press the keyboard shortcut to assign to the command. Press the Assign button to add the shortcut. Note that keyboard shortcuts can be any key (other then <Shift>, <Control> or <Alt>), or a combination of a such a key with one or two of the <Shift>, <Control> or <Alt> keys: for example, the letter 'O' is a valid shortcut, and also <Control>+<Shift>+Backspace.

Resetting the shortcuts to the original setting can be done using the Reset All button.

Category combo box

Select the category of the command to assign shortcuts to.

Commands list

Select the command to assign shortcuts to. The selected command's description appears in the description area below.

Description area

Displays the description of the command selected in the Commands box above.

Set Accelerator for combo box

Select the accelerator scheme for the shortcuts, if there's more then one.

Current Keys list

Displays the list of the shortcuts for the command selected in the Commands list. To remove a shortcut, select it and press the Remove button.

Press New Shortcut Key box

When the focus is set in this box, it will display the keys pressed. To assign a shortcut to the command selected in the Commands list, set the focus here, press the desired shortcut key(s), and click the Assign button.
If the shortcut is currently assigned to another command, that command will be displayed in the Assigned To box.

Assigned To box

Displays the command the keyboard shortcut displayed in the Press New Shortcut Key box is currently assigned to.

Assign button

Assigns the shortcut key(s) displayed in the Press New Shortcut Key box to the selected command in the Commands list.

Remove button

Removes the shortcut selected in the Current Keys list from the command selected in the Commands list.

Reset All button

Resets all the shortcuts to their original commands, and removes any new shortcuts.
