Table of Contents Operations Marking Fields Setting Field Heading

Setting Field Heading

When you create a field, you can provide a heading so it will be easier to know what is the data in the field when converting.

To provide a field with a title, use the following steps:

  1. Select the field to be named
  2. Right-click the field and select 'Edit Field Heading'
    Or
Use the Edit Field Heading command from the Selection menu
  3. Enter the field name in the Edit Column's Heading dialog and press OK

Clearing the name in the dialog and pressing OK will remove the field's heading. Note that you cannot use the same heading for two tables or fields on the same page.

If the field's heading appears as text in the document, you can use it as the field's heading by using the following process:

  1. Select the field be named
  2. Select the Mark Title command in the Edit menu
    Or
Use the Mark Title command from the Edit menu
  3. Click-and-drag a rectangle around the text you wish to be the field's heading:

The selected field will be assigned the selected text as the heading:

If you wish to name more than one field consecutively, you can use the Stay in Mark Title mode option in the Conversion Settings Page of the Settings dialog.
