Scanned Document
You can use PDF2XL OCR to convert data from paper documents by directly scanning them into PDF2XL OCR and then marking the data and converting it into Excel (or any other supported output format).
To do this, you will first need to select the scanning device using the Select source command from the File menu. This must only be done once, as PDF2XL OCR will remember your choice and will use it in the future unless that device is no longer available, or if you wish to change it.
After selecting the scanning source, you can acquire the scanned data using the Acquire command from the File menu. You can acquire one or more pages at once, depending on your needs and on your scanning device. Note that if you have a scanned document open in PDF2XL OCR while starting a acquire operation, PDF2XL OCR will ask you if you wish to append the new scanned pages into the existing document:

After you finish scanning, PDF2XL OCR will display the scanned pages. Note that PDF2XL OCR will first perform an OCR process on all the scanned pages; this process will only happen once, and its results will be saved along with the scanned document (providing you save the scan). After the OCR process is finished, you will be able to mark the data and convert it in PDF2XL OCR's scanned document mode.
If you wish to keep the scanned data itself for later processing, you can do so by saving it to a file using the Save As or Save commands from the File menu. You can later reload this file using the Open command from the File menu.
