Selection Menu

Merge the selected items of the table into a single item. You can selected more then one item by pressing the mouse over a column, row or cell and then dragging the mouse into another item, or by using pressing <Control> while clicking the mouse button on an item to add it to the selection.
Will only be available when there are more then one item selected and when all the selected items are adjacent.
When in the regular selection mode, only columns can be selected (and thus, merged). When in the Row and Cell Table Editing mode, columns, rows and cells can be selected, depending on the current Table Selection Mode.
The Merge operation is also available from the Table Layout Context Menu (which appears when right-clicking on the table layout).
Splits the currently selected item in the table. Only available when only one item is selected, and can be split.
When in the regular selection mode, only columns can be selected (and thus, merged). When in the Row and Cell Table Editing mode, columns, rows and cells can be selected, depending on the current Table Selection Mode.
If a column or row is selected, it can be split if it's wide (or high) enough to be able to become two columns (or rows). If a cell is selected, it can be split only if it is a merged cell, i.e., spans more then one column or row.
To select an item, click on it.
The Split operation is also available from the Table Layout Context Menu (which appears when right-clicking on the table layout).
This sub-menu allows selection of the currently selected column(s) or field(s) conversion format:

This option is only available if one or more columns or fields are selected.
Sets the header the currently selected field or column, by displaying the Edit Column Header dialog. Only available when a single field or table column is selected.
Displays a menu of field conversion settings:

Selecting one of the options will set the conversion settings for the selected fields; more information about field conversions can be found in the Fields Conversion help entry.
This command is only available when there's one or more fields selected.
Deletes the table or field(s) from the page layout. Only available when a part of the table is selected (to delete a table), or when one or more fields are selected (to delete the fields).
Note that accidental deletion of the table or fields can be undone using the Undo command from the Edit menu.
Converts the currently selected tables and fields into the current conversion format immediately. Only available if there's any selection.
Performs an OCR operation on the currently selected item in the page layout, replacing all the words inside it with words created from the image. This operation is only available when a PDF file is open, in Scanned Document Mode, a page layout is defined, and there is at least one item (column, row, cell or field) selected in that layout.
