PDF2XL OCR Online Help
Table of Contents User Interface Document Window
Document Window

The PDF2XL OCR document window is displayed for each PDF file loaded into the application.
It consists of the Document View area, the Conversion Preview area, and scrollbars (if necessary). If the document window isn't maximized inside the Application Window, it also has borders that can be used to enlarge or reduce the window's size.
When the document is in Scanned Document Validation Mode, the Conversion Preview area is halved and on its right side appears the Word Preview and Editing area.
A caption bar similar to the Application Window's Caption Bar, except that it displays only the name of the PDF file and not the application, the buttons on it will work on the document view instead of the application (for example, the maximize button will maximize the document window to fill the application window as opposed to maximizing the application window in the application's caption bar).
This is where the PDF file is displayed, and you can select text or a table for conversion here.
This area can show the PDF in either the Regular Document Mode or in the Scanned Document Mode.

The output settings bar contains the Output Settings button, which will toggle the Output Settings display in place of the Output Preview area, and the Reset Output Settings button which will return the output settings to the default state.

The page bar displays the number of the current and the total count of pages in the currently displayed PDF file, along with four control buttons for navigating through the document.
Pressing the navigation buttons will allow you to move to the first page, the previous page, the next page, or the last page respectively.
You can also write the page number you want to view in the page box, and press the <Enter> key to jump directly to that page.
The output preview area displays a preview of what the output will look like, and is also used to edit the output settings and to validate the OCR process.
The scroll bar can be used to move around the currently displayed page of the PDF file. It is only displayed if the page does not fit inside the Document View area.
The scroll bar can be used to scroll through the conversion preview. It is only displayed if the table sample does not fit inside the Conversion Preview area.
Dragging the document window's borders will enlarge or reduce the window's size.
Additionally, when you have elected to use the Background Automatic Table Detection, and the mouse cursor is located over a currently empty area of the page where PDF2XL OCR has found a table, this table will be displayed in a faded border, along with the Accept and Dismiss buttons:
