Output Format Advanced Target Format Conversion Filename Settings Open File after Conversion Pages to Convert Always ask for range Convert into multiple sheets Ask for table's name Mark Header when creating a table Ask for field's name Default field conversion setting Stay in title selection mode after selecting a title

This page is one of the pages in the Settings dialog.

This page allows you to change the conversion settings of the PDF2XL CLI application.

Conversion Target

The conversion target combo box allows selection of the default target used when converting. This target will be used when the Convert Menu button on the Standard Toolbar is clicked.

Filename settings

The filename settings set the behaviour of PDF2XL CLI when converting into a file (either Excel, Word or CSV). Selecting 'Ask me for a filename when converting' will ask the user for a filename when converting; selecting 'Use the PDF filename to generate an output name' setting will automatically assign the output file with the name of the PDF file but with an different extension (appropriate for the conversion type: .xls for Excel files, .doc for Word files, and .csv for CSV files) which will be saved next to the PDF file.

Open File after Conversion check box

If this setting is set, PDF2XL CLI will open the file after the conversion into a file (Excel, Word or CSV). If it is not set, the file will be saved but not automatically opened.

Pages to Convert

This setting defines the default range of pages that will be converted from the PDF file. You can set it to either convert only the current page, convert information from all the document pages, or to ask you which pages to convert.
If the Ask me each time box is checked, the Select Conversion Pages Dialog will be display, with the selected range from the settings page as the default setting.
If the box is not checked, the conversion will be performed immediately, unless Page Range was specified, in which case the Select Page Range dialog will be displayed before the conversion takes place.

Convert into multiple sheets

When this option is set, each layout table will be converted into a different Microsoft Excel sheet. If not set, all the data will be converted into a single sheet.
More information about the Multiple Tables Conversions can be found here.

Ask for table's name when created

When this option is on, the user will be prompted to name each table when it is created.

Mark header when creating

This option sets the behaviour of PDF2XL CLI when the user finished marking a new table in the Page Layout.

If this option is set, will try to find the header of the marked table; if successful, it will then mark it.
Note that you have to include the table header in the marked area for this operation to succeed.

Ask for field's name when created

When this check box is on, the user will be prompted to name each field when it is created.

Default field conversion setting

This combo box allows the user to select the default field conversion setting, which will be assigned for each new field.

Stay in title selection mode after selecting a title

If this option is set, PDF2XL CLI will stay in Mark Title mode after a title is selected, and the user will be able to select another table or field to mark the title for. To stop the mode, the user will have to select the menu command again.
If this option is cleared, the Mark Title mode will end after a title is set for the currently selected table or field.
More information is available on setting table titles and setting field headings.
