Setting Table Title
PDF2XL CLI provides you with various ways to set a table's title.
The most straightforward way is to select any part of the table, then use the Edit Table Title command from the Table menu or the context menu. You will then be provided with the Edit Table Title dialog, and typing in the name will set the title. You can also OK an empty string as the title, in which case PDF2XL CLI will create a name for the table when converting.
If the table title is available in the document (for example, written above the table), PDF2XL CLI allows you to easily mark the title to assign it to the table using the following process:
- Select the table layout to be named by selecting any element in it (column, row or cell)
- Select the
Mark Title command in the Edit menu
Or
Use the Mark Title command from the Edit menu
- Click-and-drag a rectangle around the text you wish to be the table's title:

The selected table will be assigned the selected text as the title.
You can also copy the previous table's title to the currently selected table using the Copy previous table's title command from the Edit menu.
If you want to mark titles of several tables at a time, you can set the Stay in title selection mode after selecting a title option in the Conversion Settings Page of the settings dialog. When this option is set, you can select the Mark Title command and enter the Title selection mode any time. Dragging a rectangle around words will set the currently selected table's title to those words; additionally, you can click on a table (or a field) to select it, and continue to mark the title for it. When you are finished with selecting table titles, select the Mark Title command again to leave the title selection mode.
