The context menu is available when right-clicking anywhere in the Document View Area.
The context menu displayed differs according to object clicked and to the current Selection Mode.

Non Text Selection mode context menu

Table element clicked:

Column(s)Row(s)Cell(s)

Other elements clicked:

Field(s)Outside of any layout element

Merge

Merge the currently selected columns, rows or cells. Enabled only when two or more adjacent items are selected. Not available when a field is selected.

Split Here

Split the currently selected column or row on the right-click location. Enabled only when a single item is selected and it is wide (or tall) enough to be split (columns and rows have a minimum size).

Edit Table Name

Sets the name of the currently selected table (i.e., the table in which a column, row or cell is selected), by displaying the Edit Table Name dialog. Only available when at least one element of a table is selected.
Note that you can set the name to be empty, in which case Eudi will assign a name to the table.
The table name will be displayed above the table on an orange background.

Delete Table

Deletes the table from the page layout. Only available when a column, row or cell is selected.

Edit Column/Field Header

Sets the heading of the currently selected column or field, by displaying the Set Column Heading dialog. Only available when there's a single column or field selected.

Column/Field Format

This sub-menu allows setting of the currently selected column(s) or fields(s) format.

Advanced

This sub menu displays the advanced options for the table:

Automatically Find Table End

This option toggles the table's automatic length function. If it is on, will calculate the length of the table for each page the table is on, based on the contents of the table on the current page.
Note that this option is only valid for Single Page layouts; when in Multiple Page Layouts, the table does not appear in any other page.

Find Table Using the Header

This command toggles the table's option to be found on each page by finding the table's header, based on the current header's contents. If the table does not have a header (which can be toggled by the Use Table Header command), the first row will be converted into a header automatically.
Note that this option is only valid for Single Page layouts; when in Multiple Page Layouts, the table is not searched for in other pages.

Table Layout

This sub-menu allows selection of the inner table layout calculation for the currently selected table.:

Selecting one of the options will change the table row (and in some cases, column) calculation algorithm; if a table is changed by handle (by moving a column or row separator), this setting will be changed, but can be re-initiated using this menu.
Only available when the table is selected (either a column, row or cell is sufficient).

Append to Table

This command (or sub-menu) allows appending the table's output to other tables, or to set it back to converting alone. This is done by changing the table's name, as tables with the same name are converted together.
If the current layout has more then one table, this command allows adding the currently selected table to another.
The command's text and usage will change slightly according to the selected table:

  • If there's only one other table in the output, the text will be 'Append to Table "Name"' where "Name" is the other table's name
  • If there's more then one other table in the output, the text will be 'Append to Table' and a list of the tables will be available in a sub-menu
If the table is appended to others, an additional command, 'Do not append this table', will be added; clicking it will reset the table's name
  • If all the tables are added together in the output, the 'Do not append this table' command will appear instead of the 'Append to Table' command

Selecting the name of a table to append the currently selected table to will change the name of the currently selected table. If the table selected in the menu does not have a name, the user will be prompted to provide one.
Selected the 'Do not append this table' command will remove the selected table's name.

Convert Table

Converts the currently selected table into the current conversion format immediately. Only available if any part of a table is currently selected (at least one column, row or cell).

Split

Split the currently selected cell. This command is only valid if the cell has been merged before using the Merge command.

Set Field Heading

Sets the header the currently selected field, by displaying the Set Field Header dialog. Only available when a single field is selected.

Delete Field

Deletes the field(s) from the page layout. Only available when one or more fields are selected.

In Conversion, Show Field

Displays a sub-menu of field conversion settings:

Selecting one of the options will set the conversion settings for the selected fields; more information about field conversions can be found in the Fields Conversion help entry.

Image Field

Toggles the image field status of the currently selected field(s).

Paste Here

Pastes a table that was copied into the clipboard by the Copy command into the current page, with the top-left corner of the table at the right-clicked position.
This command will be disabled if there's no table copied to the clipboard, if there are too many tables already on the page, or if there is not enough room to put the table so it will fit at the indicated location.

Paste Layout

Replaces the current page layout with the one from the clipboard. Only available if a layout was copied to the clipboard using the Copy Layout command.

Text Selection Mode context menu

Copy Text

copies the current selection to the clipboard.
