The Alternative Google Chrome Comic

People seemed to be losing the plot a little, getting a touch over excited, calling Chrome a Windows-killer (a browser does not an operating system make, no matter how optimism-fueled). Any ideas that Google was going to take Explorers market share over night is just wishful thinking.
I just thought I would inject some sanity into the proceedings.

Heh, good point. I don’t think Google is going to kill MS just yet. Most of the stuff we do requires an OS and while Apple is preferred by Google, you can’t beat MS’s share so fast.
Finally, a voice of reason! I’ve tried it, and it’s not a bad experience but I didn’t notice it being faster or better than my current browser. I can see some of its features being useful in the instance of a crash, ie JavaScript not hanging up unrelated tabs, but this is such a rare occurrence for me that it’s no reason to switch.
Windows-killer? It’s not even a Firefox-killer (not that I can think of any reason why anybody would whack our favorite fox!). It’s simply another browser—as if there wasn’t enough choice in the market.
I did notice it being faster on javascript rich sites like squidoo. But since it’s never going to feature all the addons that keeps me hooked on firefox, it’s not close to winning my allegiance. However, i may on occasion switch temporarily.
bah google hype .. Big puff over nothing considering it’s built on safari (webkit). Come to think of it doesn’t the comic say they started again … From scratch? So they grabbed webkit .. Yeah that’s starting again ey!
Chrome might be shiny but it dulls quickly … Google would have been better to have worked with Mozilla to make firefox a serrious IE killer
WHEW! I’m so glad I’m not the only one. I downloaded Chrome the other day just to see what it was like, and honestly – couldn’t see what the hype was about. It’s cool and all, but, it’s just a browser…
I’m a FireFox fan and Chrome hasn’t given me any reason to give up the Fox…
