PDF2XL is 4 Years Old!

Dear Friends,

This month Cogniview is celebrating the 4th Birthday of PDF2XL – our flagship PDF to Excel conversion product.

It’s not that we always had PDF2XL. You see, Cogniview started as an Enterprise software company that aimed to sell its Enterprise-Level software products to IT departments in large organizations.

We spent a lot of money on flamboyant marketing campaigns, well-dressed sales people and a variety of other time/money wasters.

After 4 years of struggles that resulted in a huge hole in our bank account, we woke up and realized we had to survive. So we turned to our customers who said: Make us a decent PDF to Excel converter – and that was how PDF2XL was born.

Since then, PDF2XL licenses were bought by more than 15,000 companies in a variety of industries all over the globe.

We are thankful to our customers, our employees, our partners and our blog readers who have contributed their time, energy and resources to help Cogniview achieve so many successes.

PDF2XL has been a true lifesaver. A client of mine constantly gets 10-20K pages worth of inventory listings and up until PDF2XL, they were bound to use Acrobat to view these files. Sure we had some other programs to try out, but PDF2XL came out a winner at every step of the way when it comes to preserving the format & integrity of the data post-conversion. Two thumbs up!!

You have no idea how much this software has saved my sanity. My life is so much easier now. Even on those PDF’s that are faxed and then scanned in so they end up crooked and smashed together you have to put a little work into pulling the data out, but its not near as much time has having to type it all in, the old fashion way. If not for you, these 4 years would have seemed so much longer. 20 years or more, fraught with errors, so much analysis undone because we’ll we’d be doing is data entry. Some technologies, like sliced bread, get overcredited when things like PDF2XL have enriched our lives so much.

Our college implemented a new softwar package which creates all reports in pdf format with no easy way of converting to excel. Personally, I rely on excel to enhance and adjust these reports. As major integrators of Sage BusinessVision software, on a recent upgrade from a competitive product the client could only provide us with PDF files.
From everything from Customer Databases, Vendor Databases, Inventory Databased – all form of reports came in PDF format only.
PDF2XL saved the day (or really the month). Based on the volume of data there is no way we could have tackled this project without PDF2XL. What would have taken litterally months of work to rebuild new structured tables took a 4 to 5 days.

Before recommending and reselling PDF2XL to my customers I did a lot of research on products that could convert PDF reports and formats to Excel.
After many hours trying at least 10 different options, I came up with the conclusion that PDF2XL is far superior, and way ahead from the other products in the market.

Congratulations on your 4th birthday, Cogniview.

I had a major problem to solve requiring conversion of many pages of mixed source data to excel. I searched the web for weeks, downloading trials which either didn’t work, the supplier wanted payment up front before I could test or were far too complex.
I came across PDF2XL and as I had the ability via my new copier to quickly convert to PDF, my problem was solved. Thanks.

Congratulations on your 4th year of serving the productive world with such an awesome product that has been a great time saver for a host of us spread sheet geeks. Before PDF2XL I depended on my scanners OCR software ability or what ever they call it to read and convert my pdf documents to an editable format in Excel and I’m sure some of you know what I mean and what you ended up with, but that problem has gone by the way side. And now I have vendors that have sent me their product information in a pdf (because that’s all they have learned to use) be amazed with the spreadsheet I create with their information. I actually believe I’ve had clients more interested in your product than my own. Again a very Happy 4TH year of making peoples lives easier.

I was in the “dip” and did not want to bother with your birthday present. However I did as was please to have read it all the way through – hard at the begining then realising my Dip Problem is as common as rain I took it as a ray of sunshine to know that the Cogniview approach to a problem is one that makes a lot of sense – so a compnay that makes sense is one to keep in with.

The day you were born of your parents minds was the day the world changed forever! Happy 4th birthday PDF2XL.

You took a 12 hour job and made it into a 2 hour job by reading over 500 pages of cell phone activity and creating an Excel document that was sortable and searchable. You save my company at least 10 hours of work. You saved my client three days of reading, high-lighting and writing down the activity. And you saved her thousands of dollars to have someone compile the information.

The story how I Knew PDF2XL
This was the the 2nd or 3rd day of my 1rst job Augst 12 2008. It was my probation period, my manager gave me a huge file of PDF which was actullay chart of accounts and told me to write it in XL. It was very crucial for me to type it correctly and very fast becouse it was my first task from my manager. I was very tense becouse I had got a very good job and i wished my imression not to go wrong. I searched on the net for converter and some how i reached to PDF2XL. I dowloaded it and converted my file very easily, my manager was very happy how fast i did it.

Happy Birthday and THANK YOU. What a terrific product. For years I struggled to get my suppliers to send me their invoices as an electronic file – I tried and tried – I even offered to send them my Purchase Orders electronically – but no – they are a backward looking lot!!!! A little glimmer of hope – I bought a scanner and some opposition software to make my own PDFs of invoices – it did not work – that was a was of money. Then success came – I was able to get my suppliers to send PDF invoices via email and then I found COGNIVIEW – IT WORKS – SO EFFORTLESSLY – Last night after a long day at work I received into our stock system a 24 page invoice – 320 lines – from one supplier – it only took 20 minutes to receive into stock – all because COGNIEVIEW created a csv file that I could then import into my system.

Why am I so grateful – you let me have 2 hours extra sleep last night!

Thank you – PS I do not want the gift – the software is enough – and by the way – your support is fantastic too. With 90000 product lines and 250 suppliers you help make it all happen.

I actually found your product looking to convert a massive amount of data they had stored on PDF. I was able to convert it format it and present it back to them so quickly that they look to me for all new issues they come across.

I took a 2 year contract in a remote area of Brazil working on an multi Billion expansion project. Part of my job was to report variations between our systems and the clients. We were unsuccesfully trying for a few months to compare our pdf reports (500+pages) against their raw data. That is, until I bought PDF2XL!!!! In one day I was able to accomplish the impossible!!! I found all variations and this task became a monthly reporting requirement. Well I finished the project succesfully and PDF2XL was a major component throughout the two years that I was there!!

So, thank you very much for developing such a powerful software!!

We have enjoyed moving from the standard version to Enterprise and feel that all customers (and those still using the trial) to make the change. I still remember so well when I first started to use PDF2XL about two years ago and I had to convert this 3,000 odd pages of PDF document (all one big table) into an Excel document. It amazed me then and still does a bit, that not only did it actually work ,but it took PDF2XL less than 60 seconds to convert the whole document.
On top of that it took me not much longer than 10 minutes to a. learn how to use PDF2XL and b. to select all the table data in the document and click “convert”. So easy to use.
This part of my business would simply not exist without PDF2XL.

I’ve been using PDF2XL for awhile now. It has saved me MANY, MANY hours of time. Each year I get a list of of about 8000 names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, etc. The only problem is it’s in PDF format, and not easily managable. If you want a nice Excel format they charge you 25 cents per name! That’s $2000, I’ve done it three or four times now, you do the math. I’ve estimated I’ve saved over $10,000 using this software and countless hours.

Happy Birthday PDF2XL! You deserve it because you have made my birthdays much happier since I started using you. You see, I have the worst birthday imaginable, April 15! Tax day!!! Before you came into my life I spend most of my birthday manually typing data from my brokerage accounts into Excel. Now just a few mouse clicks and my PDF reports are nicely transferred and formatted into Excel just the way the IRS folks like them. So you have not only reduced my procrastination induced stress, you have also made some revenuers very happy. I guess that’s a good thing, huh? Happy Birthday!
