How to win the war on spending, visually!
Recently I have been scolded for writing too much about technology and theory (i.e. stuff that only interests me). The main Scolder was Ms. Hadar Kadar, our director of customer relations. She pointed out that every once in a while we should post something that is actually useful to our customers (and was right as she usually is).
And so with this post, we are starting a new tradition. Every week, Hadar will prepare and post a new Excel Video Tutorial. This week’s tutorial is about controlling expenses. We would love to get your feedback on this. This template was prepared for Excel 2007.
Enjoy!

Hi,
I downloaded your template and he works great except for one thing.
When I edit the conditional format rule in sheet “Actual Budget” just to see (without making any modifications) i get an error saying “You cannot use references to other worksheets or workbooks for conditional formating criteria”.
Why this happen ? can you help me?
I was thinking that in excel 2007 that kind of reference will be possible…
The only downside I can see to this is that I don’t have Excel 2007 (if I could afford it I wouldn’t need to budget).
Is there a version or anything similar for Excel 2003 that anybody knows about?
Thanks
Sorry Dean,
We don’t have a version for 2003.
