This new release of PDF2XL Enterprise features changes and improvements sent to us by you our beloved users! Besides small tweaks and squeaks, here are some of the new changes:

Search text in single and multi-layout modes
Automatic recognition of marked elements – table or field – now you don’t have to figure out what mode you should use!
User-defined colors for table and field elements – for those complex layouts
Smaller installation
OCR background operation – now you can search text in more than a single page in Scanned PDFs, Images, etc…
Portuguese OCR capability added (for free!)

This is a patch containing a few small enhancements to pdf2xl-enterprise (although, if you are one of the people how was waiting for them, those are definately NOT small enhancements):

A long-awaited feature was added: you can now dock the preview area to any side of the document window, so if you have a wide monitor, you can use the right or left side instead of the bottom area
You can now add a post-conversion Excel Macro to the conversion layout. pdf2xl-enterprise will run it after the conversion; it’s very useful for extra manipulation after the main conversion work is done
Added an option to set how wide the distance between words should be to be considered a space
And, just to make life easier, there’s a default button available in the Advanced OCR settings dialog which allows you to restore them to the factory settings.

This new release from Cogniview upgrades various internal components of PDF2XL Enterprise:

Revamped the layout display and editing:

Total re-write of the display functionality for faster performance
Marking area for new tables vs. fields is now visually different
You can now select whole table(s)
You can now select any combination of tables and fields
You can now easily move or copy/paste multiple fields and/or tables

Simplified the layout creation process by:

Combining the table creation modes into one
Images are now considered a conversion format rather then a special field option. This means that you can convert table columns as images, which is useful (for example) in catalog table conversion

Added new table layout type, and samples for them in the help
Fixed support for PDF files that could not be opened before
Saved layouts are now backward-compatible as much as possible
New (and better!) OCR Engine, with much better support for color and higher DPI scanned PDF files

In addition, new and exciting functionality has been added:

PDF2XL Enterprise now supports scanning documents directly from the application, and converting without putting them into a PDF files.
You can now convert images files directly from PDF2XL Enterprise. Supported formats include:

Bitmap images (.bmp)
Jpeg images (.jpeg and .jpg)
Gif images (.gif)
TIFF files (.tif)
PNG images (.png)
